Looking for brutal honesty
I was interested in mounting my Sirius Radio in the top glove box. I also like the idea of the LED kit in the car because of the car is very dark at night. However with the OEM kit costing $100.00 or better, I think I found a good solution while getting the parts for my radio.
This install cost just under $20.00 including the switch. I was told the other day it looks cheesy because of the spotlight effect. The guy who said that is a notorious A$$HOLE so I wanted the opinion of people that love these cars just as much as me.
Plus I wanted to show off my Sirius install.
Let me know what you think.

i think it looks good because from what i here the dealers light kit isnt very bright. but u did a clean install. my only thing is i would swap out that spot light look and go for bar lights. would make more of an even light source. other than that, looks good! let the haters hate

Now it realllly looks like a spaceship inside! If it were me I would go with bar lights at 1/2 brightness.
Opening the glove box to see what song is playing would get old real quick for me.... Props for customizing your Fit though, keep it up! +1

This should help you if you want great lights with out putting holes in your pockets.
LEDs - underbody kits, cathodes, flexible LED strips, dome lights
I trust them with my life!

Personally not a fan of it....to me spotlights are spotlights for a reason: they're meant to light something specific up. Like you, I hate how everything's dark on the bottom half of the dash but I would have personally gone with a flood light look. But hey if you like it that's all that matters. Props to the modding!

The 2nd photo is more representative of the way the lights really look at night. They flood the area, but it does have the hotspots.
As far as looking at the song titles, in the glove box… I’m still l listen mostly to the same 4 stations on the Sirius. 3 - 90s stations, and Howard Stern. I know most of the titles without needing to read them. Plus, I’m a big guy (6’6”) and can easily reach across the car to open and close the glove box.
Hiding the Amber Sirius is worth the 6 bucks I paid for the remote.

The sirius install is excellent no complaints there. The spotlight is not my cup of tea but still looks nice. I think if you could line them out instead of the splotchy- spreadness, it would look more uniformed. Also you could see the LEDs where the light is emitting from. That's just me. You told me to be brutally honest. Overall great mods.

Cigarette lighter and hid it and the standard plug behind the dash. The antenna is mounted on the driver’s side rear of the car. The wire is tucked under the trim all the way to the front of the car.
Hiding the wire was not a problem, just used some zip-ties to hold them in place.
"I think if you could line them out instead of the splotchy-spreadness, it would look more uniformed. "
I noticed that in the Picture and went back to check it out. When I was laying out the lights, I did not remove all of the backing for the light on the passenger side. One fell to the side and I did fix that.
PS. 20 dollar mod... no great loss if it didn't work, plus I really only switch it on when I'm looking for something that fell.

Seriously speaking, I agree. I'd rather have a more flood/even light distribution for the floor. It's still nicer than having nothing though.

I don't "hate" them, but I think it would look a lot better with the light evenly dispersed. I agree with rushlow on the frosted plastic. You could sand one side of a plexiglass strip and have it span the length of each side. Depending on the light placement, you may have to modify the shape of the plexiglass, but at least you wouldn't have to completely redo the install.
I like the light in the middle cupholder area.

I BOUGHT A CUP-MOUNT MADE BY BRACKETRON AND INSTALLED ON THE CENTER RIGHT CUPHOLDER AFTER READING A PREVIOUS POST BY A SHARP GUY. ALSO PURCHASED 205/50/16 GOODYEAR F1'S SEVERAL MONTHS BACK AFTER READING THAT TIRERACK HAD THEM ON SALE FOR $50.00 EACH. I have to THANK this site for saving me several dollars already, and I Haven't had the car 6 months yet. Very Good Site with some pretty sharp fellows as members.

Nice work, the lights match well with the dash. I would say refract the light as well to make it look more professional. I don't like the way the spotlights seem to unevenly shine on the floor mats.
