Blackout 09 base hubcaps?

Hey does anyone have any ideas for blacking out the 09 base Fit hubcaps?? I can't afford alloys yet but I think the hubcaps would look a lot better if they were black (my Fit is nighthawk black pearl). Thoughts?

I haven't seen anyone who has done that. It could look good. I think it looks good on steelies without the hub caps.

As a fellow Crystal Black Pearl Fitfreaker, I must address this concern first

1.Do you have a 2009 or 2008 Fit? If you have 2009, then you do NOT have a Nighthawk Black Pearl, you have the new Crystal Black Pearl.

2. Just deal with the hubcaps. There are only a few select cheap mods that actually turn out great, and this is not one of them. But if there is an exception, it is very rare. In this case....I vote no on the painting the hubcaps.

Having just seen the pictures of the guy who's done it, I can't advise you paint your hubcaps. They honestly look more tasteful with just the steelies.

No disrespect to the guy who painted them.

None taken haha the pics kinda suck and the car is not "done" visually. Now if only the steelies had that H in the middle FTW! However its all up to you "kostar" do what makes you happy and everyone here can help you get the job done on whatever choice you make.

OK so I do have the Crystal Black Pearl. I took off the wheel covers and actually like it a lot better. I'm buying some gloss black steel paint and I'm gonna take off each wheel and paint the black to a really nice finish. This is only until I can afford new wheels LOL which will prolly be a long time. Thanks for all the input!

Maybe you could see if the centre caps from an old Honda Civic or Accord fit your wheels.

Yeah they do fit. Here's a pic of an old Civic center cap on my Fit winter rims:

Just got into this great site, I dunno if this gets in. I need help from fellow Canadian "Virtual" re. his center caps for his winter tires. I plan to do this as well for this coming winter as I like the simplicity of the stock steelies that came with my Fit Base. Where can I get those center caps (did they come from an older Honda model?) Secondly, I need to get those closed type lug nuts too, I think they are called acorn types? - same as the ones you have. Do you have the Honda Part # for those ? Thanks for your help.

The center caps came from my 88 Civic as did the acorn lug nuts. I don't have the part numbers. Perhaps a dealer could help with those numbers or you could look for what you want from a scrap yard.

Best place to get lug nuts is ebay. Just search "honda oem lug nuts". They are 12X1.5 thread with a ball seat. I was able to get 20 of them for $12. They're $5 each at the dealer.

Virtual, Those center caps are a great idea! I'm really jealous that you don't have the TPMS to deal with now. I'd love to get some blizzaks for my steelies but don't want to deal with having another set of TPMS equipped wheels.
