mugen exhaust/ front grill

Hello everyone, Just looking at the collegehillshonda site about the mugen parts for the 2009 fit. the front grill and the exhaust for factory bumper, it shows that you need to have the fit sport. Is that true? The grill nor the exhaust will be a direct bolt on with a base model? I did email them but have not had a response yet.

thanks in advance

Rene

I would think it says that because the sport bumper is different than the base. The mugen products are made to fit with the sport body molding not the base thus would not fit right. mounting brackets I would think would be the same though. Just my guess.

thanks but I understand the difference from the sport and base bumper but I figured the grill is the same. just the bumpers are different. the contact points should ideally be the same. If I can upgrade my regular grill (same one the sport uses) to the sport grill?

the exhaust is my other question. would there be different connecting points or hanger points than the base model?

thanks again
Rene

Yea I just looked at pictures of the fit base and fit sport and it looks like they have the same grille and curvature of the front bumper. I am not sure why they require the fit sport.

dont get it., but anyway I got a response from Bernardi., they were kinda short about it and looks like they just want sport models rocking the mugen stuff. I looked up the part number for the standard grill and they are the same for the base and sport.
So the answer my question, the mugen grill will fit the base if anyone was interested in getting it.

the exhaust should be no issue as well, the rear bumper on the sport and base are identical.

I never really got to look under my girl's bumper but will and see if the attachment points would be the same as the one's illustrated in the online instructions.

thanks

Is themugen exhaust really worth the 600 or so it costs does it really outperform the stock exhaust. or is it that much because it says mugen on it somewhere. I kinda dig the grill though.

for 600 it really isn't worth it.. you wont get as much gains, if you get lucky.. maybe 10hp tops but it is lighter than stock so ask yourself is it worth 600 boness!? your just paying for the name.

i do dig the grill aswell but for a 250-300 price tag.. i think i'll pass.

I guess i just don't understand why you would spend 15000 on a car and then try to make it a 25000 dollar car don't get me wrong it's fun to customize but it is never going to be a fast car. So why spend 600 on an exhaust that reply makes no difference. Just my opinion now at this stage of life I'm in. I do understand though I used to spend $1000 a week on my mustang when i was young just saying we are not starting with a racecar here and it probably will neverbe one.
