will this rim fit my ge8
im not lowered yet but i will be going with t1r springs then coilovers when they make some more barnds for the us
sportlines to come in would this be really bad?
dude let me know if your tires rub when you put your springs on
also, with either kit, with +40 offset, there is going to be minimal rubbing. Basically, if you push your car as in "spirited driving" where the entire weight of your vehicle is being pushed around, you'll rub just a tad. Or if you have a lot of stuff in your car.
Easy solution? Trim the weather trimming under the fender and/or a minor pinch/fender roll!
i didn't know the sportlines have been released for the GE8? Where did you order them from?

Anyways youll be fine. If anything just roll the fender if the noise really bothers you. Its not like its going to cause any damage. Itll just rub on bumps and sharp turns if at all.
I know people running +42 and lowered and don't rub at all.
Go for the 40 it will only rub on bumps. Plus that's all it is, rubbing. It won't do a thing to your car. Just roll the fenders a tiny bit if it really bothers you.
Ill let you know what happens when I get my wheels in +40. I would get them with a lower offset if they had em.

Just barely with stock ride height and no real heavy loads in back.
195/40x17's work best but I get away with 205/40x17's on 42 with airlift shiocks to prevent rubbing at full compression.
45 mm offset is preferrable regardless of 17x7, 16x7, or 15x7 wheels. Anty tire over 23.4" diameter is suspect.

Actually a 205/45/17 tire would be best on a GE. That is the closest size to stock diameter. Anything smaller will mess up the speedometer. Also a 45 series tire will be more comfortable and will protect the wheel more.
Unless you stick with the 53 mm offset stock wheel the 205/45x17 will have high tendency to rub, If you go with 40 mm offset you're virtually certain to.
And maintaining precise original tire diameter isn't all that necessary. Even a 205/40x17 tire with a diameter of 23.45" will only have an error of 1.4 mph at 60. reads 61.4 mph at true 60. mpg will be better even after correcting for miles driven, too. (takes less work to turn those 205/40x17's and less work + better mpg)
I would rather "rub" than have such a small sidewall. Smaller sidewall means a harsher ride and less protection for the wheel. Also you will have more wheel gap which looks horrible. All it takes is 5 minutes to fix the rubbing problem. Even then youll only rub on bumps and what not.
