I live in Joliet, Il and for the last 2 months have been proud to be the only ORM in the area. Then it happened, I saw another ORM fit rolling down the street. I thought "he's probably just passing through" Then I saw him again and again. At first I was happy, I even pointed and waved at him while driving past. Now though, it is starting to bother me. I miss being the only Orange GE8 around here. Now sure he doesn't have the rear seat removed or custom LED lights in strategic places but still I miss being the only one. I bet drivers of silver civics dont get excited every time they see another silver civic of the same year.

Anyone else have similar experiences? I've never felt such a push to mod my car. Lowering the Fit suddenly seems like a much better idea than before.

 

Hahah yep. I'm the only modded black Fit around. There's 2 others I know of but far away.

 

Yea. I had my SSM Fit only 3 weeks before I seen another one around here. One day driving to work I see another one pass me coming out of a company parking lot right next to mine. I was kinda pissed at first but then i realized well at least I have tinted windows, lowered and all the other stuff done to mine so I look a little different. Most of the fits I see are completely stock even the GD's I see.

Tint and lowering does change the look of the car alot. I recommend these def. if you want to stand out/look unique.

Amusingly enough, I pulled into the parking lot at work the other day and just as I looked up after putting my GPS away, I saw another orange fit pull into the lot! I think it was a GD6 at least.

Doesn't really bother me, I guess. I do like being unique, but I got ORM b/c I love orange, not so much b/c I want to stand out. In fact the one thing I DISLIKE about my orange car is how it sticks out. I always wonder if it will be targeted by cops, miscreants, other drivers simply b/c it stands out. If my silver Civic has one thing going for it, it's anonymity!

 

LOL i See a TON around here bone stock and old people driving them.....lol So now i always try to let them see me...I try to show them how cool i am and how cool they could be....lol

 

Same way here, I had to order my Orange Rev GE8 from another dealer when I was ready to purchase. I think there is another one in my area, the one on the lot vanished a few weeks ago. I see a few Orange GDs, but yeah all stock, no extra lil goodies, prolly not even aware of us FitFreaks...

LOL, i wander if they even notice that our cars are Fits like theirs.

 

I was on the turnpike and saw a stock black GD3 Base ahead of me. Pulled up next to it and it was a good-looking chick around my age. She didn't look at me so I sped up and got in front of her. Even with tinted JDM tails, tint, shaved rear, she knew what it was and pulled up alongside me and gave me a quick look. I followed her for a few minutes and then realized how stupid I was being and floored it to 100mph and kept on my merry way lol

 

Heh I thought I had the only TW Fit, but I've seen at least 1 other white Fit cruising around. However, mine's a sport and the ones that I've seen are LX models.... the WORST part of it, is that the TW Fits that I've seen are RENTAL CARS hahaha. I've seen a handful of other non-rental, non-TW fits around, but of all colors the rental place chose to buy, they got white...*Shakes fist* ahha. OH well, the LX light alloys look silly IMO anyways, so it's pretty easy to distinguish them

 

in Canada they have Fits as rental cars????? Wow

only way you are going to get away from that is to get your car painted a custom color... just be glad you didn't get the silver or black, I see those a LOT around here...

It sucks having a SSM because all of the GE8s I see drive around are all silver. Mostly old people who drive Fits around here, and the only modded Fits I've seen are GDs from other members on this board. I got some plans to set my car apart from others but that won't happen until next year.

 

silver is a easy color to take care of and IMO looks the best on most cars.
I've had white and black cars and I always wanted a silver car. So I bought silver.
Its popular for a reason
