iPod in Sport Navi...

I picked up my new Sport Navi today, and had the iPod connected as soon as I drove out of the dealer's lot. It sounds great but, unless I'm missing something, there's no way to search for artists or songs while connected.

Both artist and song lists start with the letter "A" and it would take forever to scroll down to a song title that started with "T", for example. I don't want to believe that this is the way it is, but I can't find a way to go directly to a song or artist.

My iPod has i5,000 songs, so scrolling through the lists isn't going to cut it. Am I stuck with working with playlists?

Thanks,

Gary,

Sadly, we're stuck scrolling. It's awful. Most times I have to wait because I hit the down arrow too many times too fast and it takes the processor a few seconds to keep up.

Pitiful and something that can and should be fixed with a software update.

I use playlists 99% of the time. Much easier that way.

My owner's manual says Nano 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation are OK, but I think the new Nano is a 4th gen. Can anyone out there confirm whether the 4th gen Nano will work through the USB?

I ended up buying an 8 gig flash drive & making playlists on it.
The car ends up organizing music different then Id want on my Ipod anyway plus its a lot cheaper. You also dont feel bad about leaving a $15 flash drive in the car vs a $150 Nano & it holds the same amount of music.
Works great

I use a fourth gen nano with no problems. I work from playlists. If we're in the Fit, we are usually on a long trip, so if it takes a few seconds to find the right tune it's no problem. Just set up your playlists ahead of time and forget about it.

Cheers.
