The Fit is... Functional!

My brother and I took a little road trip from Dallas to San Marcos (>225mi) to help my sister move into a new place and bring her a dresser. The fit is roomier than I expected; take a look...

The car estimated MPG for the ride down at 38.3mpg.
I calculated the MPG for the ride down at 33.5mpg.

We didn't have to haul anything on the ride back and was able to fit in the slipstream of a few semis on the way back every now and then.

The car has estimated the MPG for the ride back at 47.0mpg.
I only used half a tank and haven't filled it back up. I'll probably do that tonight or tomorrow morning and see what numbers I come up with.
EDIT: I calculated the MPG for the ride back at 41.2mpg.

The fit is new (MT). It had 289.4 miles on it before we started the trip down.
Bottom line. The fit is most certainly go in my book.

update 41.2mpg

According to my calculation it was 41.2mpg for the ride home. So the computer is definitely optimistic when calculating its numbers. Still a very respectable number and i'm happy with it

Shhhhhh, keep this hauling ability on the DL.

Having traded in my F150 w/ 8' bed for the Fit, I'm looking forward to NOT being the goto person when someone needs something picked up or hauled.

Agreed. I finally got rid of my full-sized Dodge Ram Van, and bought the Fit. I've been officially removed from everyones' go-to list for moving shit.

Retrofit09 - clean yer rear bumper...it makes me throw up a little in my mouth

A tire shop near my house uses a Fit now for picking up their orders from a warehouse :P

Heh, nobody will ask you to haul stuff since they think it's a tiny hatchback. It certainly does look tiny on the outside. However, the review that says something about "stuff[ing] a small black hole on the inside" is more than accurate!

yup...major drip-off area, Makes me wonder if the scratch pad is worth getting afterall...

WHAT?!? Only ONE dresser?

I bet if you turned that dresser on it's side, you could have fit TWO of them! :P

I wish it wasn't just a strip of black plastic. Has anyone seen a nicer one, perhaps embossed like the door sill trim?

I'm actually surprised Zeta doesn't sell something like that!
