Above is the non-North American version.

Below is Euro fit:

Below is what we (North America) have.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of difference (any?) in the shape of the European Fit over Japan's...

The photos everybody's looking at are from a GE6.
People probably don't know that the GE6 uses an L13A engine updated with VTEC.
Notice the grille is black mesh.

JDMChris posted the sole photo of a JDM GE8 - aka the Fit RS over there. Note the chrome running under the grille - this is absent on the GE6s. Also the grille itself is a shade of gray - not obvious in this picture but noticeable in the metal.

In the UK, they don't get GE8s so this is what they get as the GE6 "sport" version.

Those are also the same noses our GEs get here in Manila. GE6 has the much plainer mono-intake bumper, while the GE8 bumper has what look like (dummy) front brake ducts.

My thoughts exactly, looks too much like a Yaris. How will I ride past a yaris with a smug smile, that says, "you picked the wrong car" if my front end looks just like it.

The Yaris is actually built in France and Japan not Russia. The Yugo was built in Yugoslavia, but the country is now Serbia and the Company is now Zastava again not Russia, and Borat is from Kazakhstan not Russia. I'm not sure what you mean by it is really a Russian car.

I like the U.S. Style Fit more because it's the only style of Fit I'll be able to own that makes sense. Sure I can have a JDM spec Fit, but for that kind of money to convert it I'd just go pick up a Civic Si or wait a year or two and get the Fiat 500 Abarth essess when it comes to the states.
