Nightmare comes true- I lost my car!

Ever have that nightmare? You can't find your damn car in a parking lot? I have, on many occasions. This came true for me tonight. I just could NOT find the damn thing in this big ass parking lot. That sinking feeling was coming on big time. I finally realized I had one option to resort to- the panic button. I hit it and my Fit cried out like a lost kid seperated from it's parent! Car found! LOL! I am embarrased to admit- the frickin thing was four cars away from me! I just couldn't find it!

The panic button- it'll help you find the sucker!

Hahaha!....sorry to hear but too funny. I had a similar experience in a different car during holiday shopping seasons with cars following me to get my spot. I was only off by one lane.....hearing the lady with her open window say to her husband, "I told you he was lost"

Push it and hold it for two seconds. It'll start beeping! I guess there's a delay on it to help avoid accidental pressing. It'll turn off instantly once you push it again.

you could also just reset the lock and make it beep once and cause less of a ruckus.

As you get older, you can expect this to happen more and more often.

Mine is orange, too. It doesn't help, since almost any SUV will completely hide the car from view.

After replacing a stupid number of lock actuators in Hondas at our dealership I don't even use the keyless entry anymore lol... the panic button is a good idea.

Yikes. I'm not thrilled to hear that. After having terrible issues with bad actuators in my last car, I've been thrilled to have locks that work! Say it ain't so!

Btw- the panic button was the most appropriate thing at the moment, because I was definitely in panic mode! And I agree, the problem is mostly because the Fit is hidden like it's under a rug in most parking situations. That's why I usually don't nose up like I used to. Leaving the car parked a bit back gets it's ass into view, like normal.

Leaving a short vehicle to the back of a parking space is something I've been doing for 40 years. When I started riding a motorcycle way back then my Dad said he didn't like to pull into a space and find a bike there out of sight. I have always remembered Dad's pet peeve and act accordingly.

Yes- I did this with a Honda Elite scooter back in the early 90's A scooter! Oh god, uncle Garry is gonna come and kick my ass for that one! LOL! The Fit is very much like parking that in a parking space. You leave the damn things to the back of the space, primarily so people don't charge in and smash you, thinking it's empty. Same with the Fit, as I have noticed. You can find it easier, duh me, and help avoid an 'ass crash'.

Say that ten times fast!

Great idea what could be easier to find then a panic mode Fit ! I did this on my Mom once when I ran into the store and she was waiting in the car. Hit the panic button when I was almost at the car and she was looking around like I did not touch a thing!
