Buying a used 09' Sport M/T today...what should I look for

Hey --

first post here....so I'm picking up a 2009 Sport M/T with 23,000 on the clock and am wondering what Fit specific things should I be looking for with this car, its well within warranty so I'm not worried about anything mechanical.

Thanks!

I wouldn't say there is anything for sure to look for. Are you buying it from a dealer? If so have them fix the TSB on the fuel consumption gauge...may want to do a search for that thread. Other than that, tires?

Here is a general checklist that's designed for used car buyers. Some things might not apply to the Fit, but it seems pretty comprehensive to me.

As with buying any used car, check for irreversible or potentially hazardous modifications.
- electrical mods (lights and gadgetry)
- cutting
- drilling
- painting

I can't tell you how many people come into online forums seeking help because of electrical modifications that look like they were done by a 6 year old.

Because the car is well withing warranty the dealer will have to perform the update on their tab. Might not hurt to print out the TSB pdf and take it with you though.

I don't know about you, but I could easily spend an hour or three just going over all the things in the checklist posted above. But maybe I'm just overcautious. Name: dont_know.gif
