New 2010 m/t Fit finally!!

Hey everyone, I finally got my new Milano Red Fit today. just got back from the dealer. it was the only one in a multi state radius, although actually, one just came up the other day online at one of the dealers in the Atlanta area. It was SSM if anyone is interested. can't remember which dealer though. Anyway, I love the car. I took it for a test drive around the block before I signed the papers and all was good. When I got it up to speed on the highway though my first thought was man, this thing needs a 6th gear. my wife even asked me if I was gonna change gears or what. I knew what I was getting into though. My work is only 6 miles from my house and do next to zero highway driving. Also, I love the experience associated with driving a m/t. But to all of the A/T fit owners out there who may be second guessing themselves about their transmission choice, if you do any significant highway driving, your conscience should be clear IMO. Maybe someone out there can shed some light on why honda didn't put a 6th gear on the m/t Fit. aside from the Si's, are the m/t civics geared the same way as the fit? Forgive me if this topic has already been beat to death.

Congrads on your MR Fit! Post up some pictures on the Official MR thread when you get a chance to do so. My MR is A/T and I have no regrets at all.

I still think the Fit could use a 6th gear, but after 10K miles and several long-distance trips, I've quit being bothered by the revs.

Congrats. It's amazing, because in Arizona, there are only manuals available. No autos anywhere in the state.

I must move to Arizona. Nothing against A/T's, but I'd rather walk or ride a bike.

Congrats on the M/T! I had to go through hell to get a hold of my '09 M/T Milano sport.

It needs a 6th gear or a taller 5th gear.

The fit has kind of forced me to drive slower. Wich is good for fuel economy and safety too though. But not so good for road rage or cruising long distances. The engine noise just doesnt sound healthy to me anymore if I drive fast though
