Question HKS v. T1R?

Deciding on whether to order the HKS Hi-Power or T1R 50S.

Current oweners...how to you like your exhaust? sound quality? suburban and highway driving? questions and concerns?

Thanks, feedback please!

I just bought a 50S from member runbikerun but haven't got it from usps yet. They tried delivering on Saturday but I wasn't home... I'll let you know my thoughts when I get it on.

HKS is very very quiet contrary to its big fat pipe looks

I love the HKS!! I don't regret buying it, quiet unless you want noise out of it!

Yes it does have a dolphin tip.

I put on the 50S today. I can't really tell any gains but I'm sure if there are any they would be minimal. The exhaust looks great and sounds even better. It's a nice, deep throaty sound and combined with my PRM intake it sounds nice through the whole rpm band. I like that you can here the exhaust at idle... I actually know the car has an engine. It might sound stupid to some, but I enjoy it.

I've got the HKS Hi-Power axle-back, and I'm really happy with it. It's not obnoxious at all, and has a nice deep tone. Sounds excellent from inside the car, and outside at close proximity. I love the purr when I turn the key. No drone at all, a tiny bit of gurgle and pop in cold weather, once the piping's warmed up, but only if I blip the throttle in neutral (haven't heard it on downshift or any other point when driving).

It's much louder in the car than outside. To test, I had my wife drive the Fit spiritedly, while I followed closely in her Jetta With the windows down, I could only hear the Fit's exhaust in low gear, when starting off from a light. Granted this was on a relatively high-traffic street, so she couldn't really push it, but you get the idea.

I've recently added a PRM intake, and it's increased the noise factor a bit, but mostly from the intake, which is louder than the exhaust at high rpms.

Also, I personally like the look of the HKS axle-back over the T1R setup. I can't stand the "dolphin" tip or scorched look on the 50S. That said, I may pick up the T1R B-pipe in the near future.

Hope that helps.

Hey, don't forget PICS!

Please, let us know how you like it... what you think about it. Any gains? Quiet, loud?

Thanks

exhaust was installed last night. took about 15minutes for us to uninstall stock and put the new one on. it's quite deep but I think it sounds good. so far no drone at all but I haven't been at a constant freeway speed yet. seems like it's working out well.

Here's a link to HKS:

HKS USA Dealer Search by Country

I would Google prices though... look for sales. Also, sometimes manufacturers don't always list a complete list of retailers in a particular area.

Good luck!
