Storage and sun protection?

I have tried to do some research about this here, but didn’t find what I was looking for.

Any ideas about cheap add-on products to add to storage in the vehicle? I can hardly fit my GPS in the glove compartment. What is the cheapest way for me to get some sort of armrest storage add-on? Will the 2008-09 models fit the 2010? Can I self install these? There is one for sale online that claims to snap in place for 2008-09 models, so I'm wondering if that might fit my model too.

Also, I need more protection from the sun than the tiny sun visor provides. Would I be best served by tinting all of my windows or just the visor area (top of the window). Thanks in advance

i'd buy the Honda OEM armrest because it's going to be the sturdiest option. You can still self install it will just take more effort. i'd tint all the windows you're legally allowed to, it really helps the vehicle feel more private.

Also something I did to help with the tiny-ness of the visor was to get one of those strap-on CD holders for it. It was the kind that has a velcro and can open up to reveal more CD's, with a flap hanging down. This serves 2 purposes: 1, it is bigger than the visor and stays up there just fine, thus making it actually block some sun when I put it down, and 2) if I have the visor on the side and it's still not blocking enough for me, I can put down the flap. Tada! No sun in the side of my eyes.

Try it as a fix in the meantime until you get tint. That's what I'm doing.

Also, this is a video showing what you have to do to self-install the OEM armrest in case you were wondering: DIYHonda.com Video Podcasts: Episode #154 - 2nd Generation Honda Fit Armrest Installation

Handy... but not great for daily use, especially if you've got someone sitting in the rear seat. it's easier to get the rear cargo cover and just store things in the trunk.

I' go with the OEM add on armwrest like mentioned above. provides additional storage.

As for the GPS, I'd use the upper glove compartment on the fit as most people don't even know it's there and wouldn't expect two glove compartments in the fit. Should be big enough.
