I will never doubt how kind a stranger will be ever again.....

It started a few weeks ago when I parked to go to work and an older guy parks right next to me in a BBP Fit. He gets out and we start talking about why we like eachother's cars and why we got them, ect. We talked for a solid 20 minutes before we went his way. Every time he's come to my work he's gone through my line and talked about his Fit and other stuff.

Tuesday he came in with a mixed expression on his face and said he had good news and bad news. The bad news was that he traded his Fit for a CR-V. (I was a little put out, but what am I to say, it's his car.) The good news was that he had OEM add-ons that he had left-over from his Fit that he wanted to see if I wanted them. He mentioned interior lighting, carpet mats, wipers, wiper housings and the Accord horn upgrade. I asked him how much he wanted for the lighting, and he said nothing. He said he hated E-bay, didn't know anyone else who had a Fit and thought I might like it, and he said he would be back the next day and give me the box with everything he had. By now I was jumping up and down in excitement, but still had a little doubt. I mean, this doesn't happen normally.

True to his word, he came back the next day and left me with this:

I kept thanking him so much I think I annoyed him. I couldn't believe my luck. The carpets are untouched, the horn was still in its shipping bag, the wipers were brand-new, all the hardware to mount the interior lighting was in there untouched. I'm still trying to convince myself I'm not dreaming. And I know this is April fool's day, but this isn't fiction.

Holy crap.

Great story. It turns out, many, many people are kind-hearted. I have run across this myself and even been on the giving end at times. People feel better about themselves when they extend good will to others. It's kinda selfish, but in a very good way. Enjoy your goodies!

I'm in the middle of moving, so it's going to be a while before they go on, but they will.

Since I aleady have an Accord horn, anyone looking to get mine just PM me. All I'll ask for is shipping. The wipers might go the same as well, haven't decided yet.

It's because you are in Alabama. If you were in Califiornia he would have done a slip and fall and sued to pay for his CRV. Next he would have levied charges of racism. HAHAHAHHA

Awesome story though.. enjoy your cool parts!

indeed!!! i've never been too desperate when it comes to automotive help but i've got a few stories from when i had a beat up '84 prelude in high school.

i still remember the one time a stranger helped me out when i needed a jump start. i offered him some monetary compensation. he would not take it and just told me to do the same when i see someone else in that situation. it really is a great feeling to receive help from random strangers and it feels really good to be able to help others as well.

stories like this remind me that humanity might not be in the shitter after all.

This type of thing isn't as common as it once was but on occasion there will be someone that comes along and reminds me...... It all comes back, good and bad.
