Stock Dunlops- found a buldge
Its got be under warrenty, right? I had a 2007 Mini Cooper S and bought insurance from Discount Tire on them, yes, you can do that even if you didn't buy the tires there and I'm glad I did because the new runflat Dunlop was $338.00 per tire and the insurance was $126.00. It was the first time in 13 years of buying tires and insurance I got to use it, but I'd do it again and I do, every time.
My driver's front tire has a huge bulge that I'm hoping doesn't blow out and kill me on the freeway while I wait for my new tires to come in. The bulge didn't appear until about 26,500 miles (I have just over 28,000 now) so I'm not going to try to warranty it.
I chose these Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport instead of the Direzza Star Specs... a little better grip in the southeast Texas rain and a little quieter for daily driving, at the expense of ultimate dry grip which I don't really need. Should be mounted on the car this Friday.

Thanks all. I'm on the fence with this one. The dealer is 25 miles away and even though I may have put some miles on the tire WHILE I had the buldge before I found it, now that I know about it it's spooking me. What if the damn thing blows out on the way to the dealer and I incur some real damage?!
I bought the exact Dunlop replacement for my sport from tirerack.com last night. I'm also pretty sure a tremendous pot hole caused this in late March. I just didn't look to see what the damage was. I figured, no flat, all ok. So a warranty repair may be questionable, even if I don't disclose that. But considering the highway miles to get to the dealer, a questionable warranty, and half a day out of my life to do so, I bought the tire myself and will have my mechanic around the corner do it. The tire was 97 bucks with shipping and a nominal fee to install it. Say, 25 bucks maybe? All toll, it's worth it to me to not drive on that tire on the highway but rather, right around the corner.
But this nagging thought- it can probably be warrantied!

You should have a seperate tire warranty with your maintenance logbook. However, a bulge isn't necessarily a reason for replacement per manufacturers. Some tires will bulge at the least provacation, like bumping a curb or pothole and the manufacturer says thats your fault. Besides a bulge doesn't keep the tire from working just fine. They say.
Your only recourse is to tell the tire dealer you're going to record the fault with photos and witnesses so if it fails you can sue them. Most of them will laugh. The others will chase you off.
Next time buy a better tire.
Like I said, I bought a stock replacement. My guy put it on for 20 bucks. I'm quite certain I know the exact pothole that did it in. It was a really bad one. On the up side, I can't say enough great things about tirerack.com. Cheap, no tax, and the tire was at my door in 48 hours. Beautiful thing!
Now, on to avoiding potholes!

thats awfully nice of PORSCHE. Honda is a totally different company. not exactly the same quality of materials are used in the same cars... hahaha
Looks like you've already replaced it, but . . .
I would have taken the opportunity/excuse to upgrade your tires all around to something better. Almost anything you buy will be a vast improvement over what comes oem.

A bulge on the side wall means there is some kind of structural damage on the tire, most likely delamination. It may work fine as long as it does not blow out. I would never continue driving the car knowing the tire has a bulge on the sidewall.
On another note, my mechanics were smitten with the Fit! They LOVED it! Loved the color and style. The magic seats. They were very inquisitive about what's under the hood. I think it's the first one they've seen up close. Is it any wonder why? Not many roll in with problems! It's always nice to impress your mechanics with your car choice! They really like Honda to begin with.
