Wheel Color

Just a question. Why do I see black as a wheel color so much ? I think it blanks out any character the wheel/tire assembly might have and leaves the impression of a black disk in the wheel well.

On the right car, with a good color scheme, it works. But like you, I normally find that it detracts from the car. It can make the car look like it has four holes instead of attractive rims.

I have a black 350z and refused to get black rims for that point exactly. Plus when your moving (95% of the time your car is seen they only see a big black circle)

Everyone has their own opinion of what the best wheel color is for their car. But I do agree that the black ones can look like a black disk when movinb. As for me, I am getting gold wheels to go on my blue sensation pearl Sport (but then I do work for Notre Dame).

..as opposed to colored/polished circles??

brake dust hides better on black/dark colored wheels. good for lazy people, like me.

There are alot of rim options that are better. Even somehting like this would look alot better. Has some black but still looks good on black. There is always time attack style rims too.

<3 the wheels!.. my point was that all rims regardless of color or finish look like circles when in motion.

Agreed - my wheels are white, and they're an absolute bitch to clean brake dust out of.

All black isn't my top choice in wheel color, but it also depends on the body of the car as well as the style of the wheel. I've never been a fan of Spoon's SW388/Desmond's Regamaster EVO or any of its clones, for instance.

Black + polished-face wheels are really lovely though.

Im not saying a all black wheel cant be pulled off but sometimes a slight change or mix like a different center or even time attack stripe can make a huge difference.
