fixing the damn foglamps, the poorman's way
I thought I would share my poor man's way of fixing a foglamp lense.
So after sattering one and cracking the other, I had enough and set about mending it. I pulled the fog lamp apart and found that it comes apart into 2 main parts. I figured a sheet of lexan sandwiched in their would accomplish what I was looking to do which was make it look not broken.
Seeing as I work at a Hobby Lobby in town, I did some shopping after work and found a sheet of lexan for 99 cents, but ended only paying 50 cents for after a discount. Five minutes with a pair of scissors and two test fits later it's in. It's perfect. I'm pretty sure if I used the fog lamps I would melt the plastic, but because the lexan cost me less than a dollar and there's plenty left over, I'm going to try them tonight for about 15 minutes and see what happenes. I'm not going to be able to post a reply until probably next Saturday but I'll get back in touch.
