Fit fog light assembly is ridiculous...

OMFG are you kidding me...??? it only took me under 3 mins to remove both fog light assembly. Is there some way to mod this thing to make it more "steal-proof"

Edit:
make that under a minute per assembly

The only people that would steal them would be other Fit Sport owners.

I dunno, seems somewhat unlikely to me.

Can't help it... I'm originally from Brooklyn. 2x side mirror popped and stolen... 3x glass broken and broken into ... 1x fog light stolen... 1x car stolen

Yes it does depend from state to state but for $180.00 a pop... at least make it tougher non the less

i agree, depends where you live. i say adding another bracket that is bolted from the foglight housing to the rad support/frame. invest in a good alarm system (shock/tilt sensors) if theft is high in your area. theifs will probly take more than just a foglight.

yea, its pretty ridiculous how easy it is to remove the entire assembly. The worst thing is if you get the mugen lip, u cannot remove it the conventional way so u're screwed trying to change the bulbs.

I remember when the BQE was under heavy construction. I would visit one of the DOT job trailers. This guy would have stories of his guys watching broken-down cars getting stripped before tow trucks could get to them!!! I broad daylight.

The rear garnish comes off with one sturdy pull. There's only one bolt holding it in place, but the plastic is easily broken as I have found out.

When I put stone guard film over my fogs, I thought this was a wonderful feature. If it really bothers you, all sorts of tamper-resistant security fasteners are available. Just make sure you have the proper tools....

A thief can steal your stub antenna or your windshield wipers without any tools at all.

Mugen front under spoiler will protect fog lights from car thief.
The thief will have to steal the car instead. Worst than fog lights. Ha ha ha.

You can still change the fog light bulb by removing wheel well but not the len.

It's been 5yrs since I've crossed through there, but I started back in 1967.
Would drive a 64Beetle from up-state out to Riverhead. Suffolk Co AFB.
Did it for two years - shipped out of country.

BQE was a whole lot simpler in those days.
Ever since it's been constantly worked on. How to describe it... one BA-Junction. You guys know.

google bqe Brooklyn - Queens - Expressway

As the previous poster said. The Mugen front bumper makes it much harder to remove the foglight. Bulb has to be changed from the inside.

Why did you change them? Did you find something better?

Nobody in STL will steal your fogs. They might key your car, but those fogs? No way.

(Lived there forty years)

Cheers.
