Austrailian projector headlights?

Will they plug and play with a U.S. model?

If not can I easily modify them?

BTW why does Austrailia have an aftermarket for projectos but the U.S. doesn't?

Thanks!

The simple answer is no and no.

The non-usdm version has different headlights, bumper, hood, fenders, etc.

Sorry to keep bothering you...buy you seem to know

These should work on my 2010 sport right?

2008-2009 HONDA FIT R8 HALO LED BLK PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT: eBay Motors (item 130413566693 end time Aug-03-10 08:00:27 PDT)

Hopefully problem solved. I'm sorry to keep pming you. I've just seen your work around the site and figured you knew more than most people around here.

Thanks again so much for all your help and honest advice.

Those won't work either...as you can see on the picture of the red Fit, that is a non-usdm bumper hence those lights only fit non-usdm Fits.

Hope that helps.

As far as I know, and I've looked, there are no aftermarket headlight assemblies available for USDM fits. Most of the guys here go a full retrofit in order to get the look and the performance of HID's. It can cost anywhere from 400-1000 depending on if you do it, have it done, and the parts used.

The picture shows it on a non USDM FIT. (bumper looks to be JDM but definitely not USDM) so I have a feeling they are not for the US Models. They have a customer service line that you can call. verify and let everyone know.

I have a feeling those headlights are the same as what I bought, except mine are chrome.

They aren't direct plug and play. The problems are the upper mounting points. But with a liitle bit of modification, you can use them.

Another issue, however, is the turn signal. The USDM signal bulb and socket adapter do not fit, and the set I bought did not come with signal bulbs. That being said, I haven't plugged in my LEDs, so I'm left with no front signal and hyperflashing rear signals. Haven't given up on fixing it, but haven't decided how to go about fixing it either.

I was actually looking at these:

Honda Jazz/Fit GE Angel-Eyes Projector HeadLight 08-10 - eBay Headlights, Lights, Indicators, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 30-Jul-10 06:42:56 AEST)

Because in the auction they said that they ship the LHD (so USDM/Canadian models) version too, but you have to ask for it. So I e-mailed the guy and he said that for sure they fit the Canadian Fits, as he had already sent many there....I'll have to double check about the adapters for the turn signals and such though!

There are some LHD that still have non usdm bumpers...just FYI. I would love for those to work, trust me but I don't want you to get something that will not fit or has to be modified.

Yeah fair enough. I really want some projectors, but man $1000 for a retrofit is just too much and is not justifiable for me haha.

I REALLY want to get similar headlights and was considering purchasing here: Amazon.com: 07-09 Honda Fit LED Halo Projector Headlights Black: Automotive

I did notice like you mentioned that there doesn't appear to be a turn signal. How about light output? How is it compared to stock?

Those lights do really look nice, but I just want to make sure they function too. How do you like the lights overall?

I really don't like the fish bowl headlights that come stock with 08 Fits and lower.

Your thoughts much appreciated.

Thanks

The set I bought, didn't come with turn signal bulbs (or the adapter). Another user bought a black version from somewhere else and got turn signal bulbs.

This is where I got mine... Lighting ~ Headlights ~ Honda ~ Fit (except in chrome, obviously)... it's a little cheaper than the listing from Amazon (although I love buying stuff from Amazon). Free shipping and you can apply the current Valentines discount of 7% off $250 (or 10% off $350, if you get the more expensive set).

Light output is... well, see for yourself. Here's the output on a wall (https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...tml#post882209, second pic is high beam). And then on the ground... (https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...n-alive-2.html). They're two links to different messages in the same thread.

It seems to be brighter in forward direction than stock, because it narrows the light output a little. Coverage is fine for me. The only issue is aiming it (something you should do for any headlight). For the life of me, I can't find some level ground to do it properly. Everywhere I go to try to adjust the aim, it's either too high or too low (or cross eyed!).

I don't like the stock headlights on the GE either. I call it frog eyed.

Speaking of which... do you have a GD or GE? despite the model year number on it, the one in the picture will NOT fit the GDs. If you are going to try to buy it from the seller on Amazon, contact them first, ask them if the headlight is exactly like the picture... then go from there.

Thanks for the reply Goobers! And for the link.

As long as light output is decent then I am happy.

I do have a GD; 2008 model which IS different than yours. It is good to know that the one in the picture does NOT fit the 2008 model. I read somewhere that the light is a combination of the GD and GE model; where the structure of the glass fits the 2009 and higher, and the housing structure is more for the 2008 and lower.

Here's a pic of my current setup more or less (the pics are from another owner, but I have the same car with about same setup): smile | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Since I have a GD, the lights are even more Fish Bowl than GE. The TWB makes it look like one big happy smiley face. The blackhouse definitely makes it look nicer, but still not enough of a MEAN look that I'm after. You can definitely tell the difference from different angles, but if you look directly from the front, it's a bit harder to tell the blackhouse difference (still resemblance of happy face stock).

Thanks again for the heads up. I already contacted the seller, so will see what they say. I'm assuming if it is like the picture, than it won't fit 2008 model. Sigh, there doesn't seem to be any aftermarket lights for GD model.

I'm not so sure about that. In my attempt to get turn signal bulbs, I thought that it was possibly the same thing... that it used the 1st gen's turn signal bulb. So, I bought a pair of adapters... they still didn't fit.

Its possible they only mean, specifically, the mounting points and not the bulbs or sockets, etc. edit: after looking at Bernardi parts page... one of the mounting points of the GD headlamp is completely different from the GE... but the housing I got, wasn't that far off.

I need to find out if the EUDM and JDM use different types of bulbs... and if they do, which ones.

I've been thinking about popping in some H1 HIDs... but seeing as I just spent $80 on two pairs of H1 Silverstars not too long ago... I can't convince myself to spend more money.

Hey Goobers,

I got word back from the seller and he said the one on Amazon is in fact for GE fit and NOT GD. In addition, he said that the manufacturer is currently recalling that product. And more than likely, due to the several concerns that you mention.

So for those who did attempt aftermarket headlights, they either managed somehow or had a skilled friend who could help them alter the product to fit.

Otherwise it seems there's no aftermarket headlights for USDM fit as of now (only retrofit).

Goodluck and hopefully you figure out something for those lights. They do look nice!

PS. I don't know if you've seen this yet, but here's someone else with those lights:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IlTL...eature=related
