Tired of the Spoiler.

So I took it off. I had a DIY Mod to raise the angle of the spoiler. But, I've suspected for a while that the andditional angle was creating more drag at higher speeds. 4 nylon bolts (to fill in the holes from the spoiler clips) and 2 dabs of hot glue (to seal up the 2 main mounting holes from water) and it was off. Looks better even with the ghetto bolts IMO. I may be biased but I think I can feel a small difference over 60 and a big difference over 100 .

snapped some quick pics at work. It's somewhat unique because Orange Revolution Metallic is a Sport-Only color, so there should be no ORM fits without a spoiler. On a side note, I used the stock muffler tip for the axleback straight pipe. It's nice and understated with no fart can to be seen.

In a sorta perverse way, I like it. I've always referred to the "spoiler" as a "rear window sun visor", and wondered what my car would look like without it. Thanks for showing me.

Not my cup of tea. Looks "unfinished" without the spoiler to me. Just my $.02

The spoiler, body kit, and the wheels were the reason I went with a base.. I don't care of any of the factory bling.

Looks good...

Cool I like the spoiler...

Not that I am taking the Fit on spins over 120 mph...but because it directs the airflow past the rear of the car and keeps the back window cleaner. I have owned hatchbacks and station wagons with and without rear spoilers, and the ones without the spoiler tend to get the dirt rolled up on them much easier.

the base model looks so basic, if the fit didn't come with a spoiler package, i wouldnt have bought it
the mags, body kit, spoilers, make a basic car turn heads.

I was supposed to go out to the track yesterday, before I had the plug problems. If it's not a busy day when I do go I will try a run or two with the spoiler and see if it affects my trap speeds. It probably wont affect ETs much but if there is a difference it will show in the traps. It does have a very polarizing effect. When I look at it, the first word that pops in my mind is 'bald', lol. It's like my fit got a haircut.

Looks like a bad case of Acne over the rear window now with all those bumps and humps.

Hmm...

To each his own.

I'd say looking at it without the spoiler? It isn't so much I dislike it as much as I don't particularly like it.

I don't think of the Sport Fit "Spoiler" as a spoiler...I do think of it more as a rear window visor. Without the Spoiler/Visor? IMO it looks too Chevy Aveo.

But if you don't like the spoiler? There you have it...

I'm missing enough up top already... the more I can leave up there the better. LOL

I like it with the wing in the back as it gives the fit a more aggressive look but to each his/her own.

Enjoy.

Those heavy alloys and full stock interior are going to affect your trap speed MUCH MORE so than any small contribution that spoiler is going to make.

Full interior? What's that? It's about as stripped inside as it can be. The nitrous does add an extra 25lbs but that is about what the spare tire weighed. The stock alloys are 16lbs...

Next time you are out cruising on the highway stick your hand out the window and estimate how many pounds of force are being applied to it. That force is even more important than the weight of the car.
