Question New Rims

I just put 17in Konigs on my Fit and now the front wheels (only) stick out about half an inch or so from the body. Does anyone know what can be done to correct this? Is there a way to adjust something so the tires don't stick out past the wheel well?

seems you bought the wrong offset. not much you can do...
1)use narrow tires to compensate for wheel offset
2)lower your car and increase negative camber.
3)do both?

yep you bought the wrong offset...not much you can do to fix it that won't cost a whole lot more dough.

He said front only....so it probly looks a LITTLE goofy. lol

Just space out the rears to compensate. Get some poke on all four corners.
Oh, and along with pics, what are the exact dimensions of your wheels?
17x?x?

Where did you get the wheels? (I'd assume if all have the same offset, all 4 would stick out about the same)

As others have said, check the offset.

I bought them all the same size from Discount Tire but don't recall the exact dimensions other than 17in diam. I guess I can always space out the back to balance it...sux though.

When you all say check the offset, do you mean to check the rim size on all four? Are they suppose to be offset so you only put one set up front and one in the back? I've never heard about this.

I'll post pics soon.
Thanks!

mine are like that too...not a big deal. You don't really notice it unless you really look!

The offset is another dimension of the wheel. essentially how far off the hub attaches from the center of the wheel. an offset of about 45mm is good. going down to 40mm or lower will push the wheels out further. it would be on the specs paperwork for the wheels you bought. The wheels are likely 17x7 or similar.

The reason the fronts appear to stick out further is the track width of the vehicle. Honda has been doing this on their FWDs for some time.

Example Fit Sport Front track width: 1,476mm
Fit Sport Rear Track width: 1,459mm

That's a difference of 17mm between the front and rear track widths.

Spacer for the rear so it matches the front and slimmer tires, trust me I would know

Yup, they're Feathers...good call. I was looking at why there is an offset, and the front brakes have more space from the disc to the rim than the back brakes from the drum to the rim. I've called around and no one will install spacers. They say its too risky, lol. I could always put disc brakes on the back even though its way more expensive. Plus it would look much better anyway.

Yea I'm not really worried about it...just being picky. I got other things I want to add first anyway, like tint!

i think im about the only fan of the Old School Muscle Car Reverse Look, big poke in the rear from the big wheels and none in the front from the smaller wheels, kinda like our cars in reverse with a +40 off, you get a minimal (but noticable) poke in the front and none in the rear haha

you can add the spacer yourself instead of paying someone else to do it. i wouldn't put anything past a 3mm spacer on the stock lug studs though, you want to keep a minimum of 6 rotations on your lug nuts.

i would suggest camber bolts and some lowering springs. have an alignment shop give you 1.5 degrees of negative camber and it shouldn't poke like that out the top anymore.... or trade wheels with someone, lol.
