Alright, this may sound REALLY dumb or pathetic, but a friend of mine wants to sell me his spoon n1 exhaust off a GD3 for a gooood damn price. Just wondering if it would fit on a ge8 in any way with some welding work done? Thought i'd ask this before i pass up on the offer

 

I'm sure with some cutting and welding anything could be mated up. Must be a really really good price, because brand new, just the canister isn't too much of a wallet buster.

 

Sure its possible if you have a good muffler shop or fabricator properly bend exhaust tubing the same diameter as the muffler's with the correct dimensions, tack (weld when everything is in position) the exhaust hangers in the correct position, and use the correct exhaust flanges to mount to your B-pipe.

I personally wouldn't want to cut up a great muffler like the Spoon N1 that since designed with a specific model in mind. I'd be worried about the fabrication done to make it fit with another vehicle could negatively alter exhaust flow and possibly leak.

 

yeah i felt the same way about cutting it and repositioning the thing, but god.. its so beautiful and sounds soo good...

 

Any reputable exhaust shop should be able to do it. It's just a muffler and pipes. But yes. I do agree that it's a pretty unit. Cut it up!
