coilovers
If your going to spend that much money on suspension I would recommend doing it completely right. Buy the suspension made for your specific model.
I would buy these...
HKS Hipermax S-Compact Coilover Kit for 2009-2010 Honda Fit - P/N: 80120-AH006
or
Tein Basic Damper Coilover for 2009-2010 Honda Fit - P/N: GSB80-G1AS2

) Yet, it would seem you may not know the difference between coilovers and simple lowering springs... please correct me if I'm wrong. If I'm correct, then it should be no embarrassment... we're all ignorant to "the facts" at some point. I was until not long ago.
As far as those "other" forum participants? Maybe they're just too "cool" to respond and/or would rather get a laugh off of someone's lack of knowledge.
Either way, if you don't want/need the adjustment, sounds as if you may be happy with simple lowering springs. Besides, lowering springs are a fraction of the cost of coilovers. If you don't need the adjustment then it seems silly to spend the extra money purchasing coilovers. Then again, if you have money to burn, then I suppose you could purchase coilovers.

Coilovers are definitely better all the way around. (do forum searches for the advantages). Yet, lowering springs will give the look without added major expense.
Cost wise, you can get cheaper 'Dropzone' springs, or get higher-priced, better quality 'Swift' springs -- and everything in between the two brands with regards to pricing.
Do web searches for pricing and for lowering rates of different brand springs.
Your choice!
