Thumbs up Air Helper Springs for GE Fit

For anyone that's every loaded the Fit up with a bunch of camping gear, mulch/compost, a gear rack or small trailer on a hitch, etc, it's obvious that the rear springs don't deal with the extra weight very gracefully. This is especially true of weight behind the rear bumper (bikes, cargo rack, trailer, etc), even if it's only 50 pounds or so.

I recently checked Firestone's application guide for their Coil-Rite air helper springs that go inside the coil springs...

COIL-RITE™ Air Helper Spring Information

I was shocked when Fit showed up in the list of cars under Honda. Firestone claims the 4183 kits fits the 2010, which I assume would fit all GE's (2009+).

A quick Google search didn't find any of these for sale from known outlets. Summit Racing sells quite a few of these Firestone air helper kits but apparently not the 4183. I may have to check with a local Firestone to see if they can order 'em.

Damn... I've been looking for something like this for my GD. I wonder if GE ones will work...

Has anyone used this kit (which is listed for the 2010) successfully with a 2009?

We installed monroe airlifts on my Fit and 2 or 3 others. The installation is clean and easy. there are many photos of installations on this site but quite a while ago. Check them out.

All Fits (GE8) are the same so it will work for the 2009.
