GD rear end on GE

Has anyone tried to put the GD rear end on the GE?

I tried searching but no luck...

As some of you know I plan on running 16x8.5 +20 16x9 +14 wheels on my GE... I however cannot adjust the rear camber on the GE and was curious if anyone had simply swapped the rear...?

you would physically needs to look at both and take
measurements to find out.
maybe someone can post up GE measurements while someone
else posts GD.

are you reffering to the rear bumper or lip?

also to doe the rear camber, look in to shims you can adjust the camber i believe you can do up to -2 max. search engine is you're friend.

Im talking about the entire rear suspension setup -

You cannot adjust the rear camber on a GE only the GD...

i read somewhere that you can with shims... look more in to it, but im not 100% sure.

suspension yes you can, but the rear trailing arm and whole thing i doubt it, but try it out and let me know how it goes.

To my knowledge, you can't adjust the rear camber on either the GD or GE. As others mentioned already, look into shims or machine down your hub to compensate the negative camber you wish to run.

The suspension really isn't all that different between GD and GE. The GE's is a more refined design but the guts are the same.

What I really mean is...no you can't adjust the rear camber on both. Both cars use torsion beam axles for rear suspensions. Shims are the only way to get very limited camber adjustment.

OP - I see where you are going. My understanding is that the GD has a bolt-on hub allowing shims to be used behind it, where the GE hubs are welded or pressed into the actual rear end assembly which means NO shims will work. Please correct me/give proof if i'm wrong...

Thats what everyone keeps saying - So I figured, Ill just swap out rears... lol!

If I can shim the rear of the 09 its news to me... No camber kits appear for it and everyone says its welded.

The GE8 rear beam is one piece from end to end. The GDs have bolt on hub assemblies that can be shimmed or machined. I am working on mine now; we just got a new rack in our shop and my Fit is going on this week. My left rear camber and toe are out; I will probably have to replace the beam to correct it. I think it's ridiculous of Honda to have no other remedy than beam replacement to correct a commonly alignable issue... big bucks. I may apply some torque to the arm prior to replacement to see if it can be bent at all.

More as it happens...

Why not just get a JDM GE8 rear trailing arm assembly? Or can you not adjust camber on those either? (not sure myself, maybe some one knows for sure)

Speaking of which anyone know approx how much the above parts to get rear discs would go for? give or take?
(I'm guessing price is why no one's done the JDM rear conversion yet?)
