WTF? Assisted parallel parking? Heated seats???????

Alright so I am sitting in class and decided to surf around the Honda's Japan site. Now I am just pissed off. Yet again because of stupid USDM we don't get the cool features like they have in Japan! What features you may ask? Just take a look....
Honda N} tBbg υEIvV|εvυ
As you scroll down you will see that in Japan you can get heated seats, assisted parking, and the cool remote that allows you to lock, unlock, and start your car without ever touching your keys. O and of course my most envious one, the sky roof.....I need to hurry up and get my fit from japan

People here just aren't going to spend over 20k on a loaded up economy car, when you can bump yourself up a status level and lease a bimmer, or something, instead. Or maybe upgrade that camry to a lexus ES, which is the equivalent "move up" as the olden days of american cars let you do along the path of the american dream.
Speaking of that era - today's marks an important one in history - remember pearl harbor!

No side airbags, but then again most of the Fits here don't come with them anyways. It is an optional item and not standard equipment.
I don't know Japanese, but Google's Chrome browser offered to translate:
Kind of reminds me of mid-60's Honda motorcycle manuals.
If you installed the optional sky roof manufacturer, indoor feel more open and panoramic. One electric sunshade opens and closes the switch that are parked at the location of your choice. Of course, UV cut glass function.

In countries with more dense conditions and higher fuel taxes (and often taxes on displacement and/or vehicle footprint) the market classes don't line up quite the same as here.
The result is that it is easy for a Japanese automaker (or an automaker in any country where small cars are the norm) to modify a B or C class car and sell it as a budget priced subcompact here. It has the engineering finesse expected at a higher level, almost as a side benefit of producing cars for the home market. Going the other way, things don't work so well - a compact US car going to Japan could be loaded down with features, but it has been designed for the bargain class of cars... There's a reason why the Toyota Cavalier wasn't a grand success:

(Yes, it's real)
And assisted parking... Lets just say, in an area where I often wonder if there is an organized ring of Asian ladies driving Toyotas trying to kill everyone on the roads, I'm not the least bit surprised that they would put assisted parallel parking on a car this size.

meh. could be worse. you could be living north of the border up in Canada where our dollar is usually +/- $0.06 cents less than the US dollar, but when it comes to buying cars (the Fit in this case) we fork over nearly $4k-6k MORE (before taxes which is $0.14 % Harmonized sales tax HST) than the US motorist, but what extras do we get? heated side mirrors?
so what do canadian fit owners pay extra for? nothing really. if anything our sport model is just a LX/DX with a sport packaged look (interior wise - no paddle shifters, no VSA (option), no bluetooth no Nav) add to that no MUGEN parts. :b
if only they just made universal addons and standard features.
