Anyone replace their windshield yet?

Ok, I'm in Canada, and It's frikkin cold, that may have something to do with it? I've got an 09 fit sport in Blackberry Pearl. I got a rock in the windshiled on the freeway a couple of weeks ago and it was right in my field of vision as I drove. I decided to get the windshiled replaced instead of just fixed because of where the rock chip was. Good thing I've got a package policy, only 50 buck to replace the glass, not 700$ like it would have cost retail. Anyways, got the glass changed, but now I can hear the engine noise! I can hear the valves ticking and the intake sucking in air!!!! F*%K! Does anyone know if this will go away? did the guys who installed it do a bad job, or will the sound go away as the windshield sets. The sound seems to be comming from the front passenger side where the glass dips into the engine compartment. It's much deeper there, than on the driver side. Has anyone had the same problem or know about glass? Does it need to be replaced again. I'm really frustrated and just looking for some advice or info. I love my fit and it's still like new ( I wash it at least once a week) and I don't want more engine noise. I would if it was a V8 growl, but it's not. Anyone got any ideas?

I took a big rock about 6 months after I got the car. The guy tried to fix it, but broke it instead.

The new windshield has a couple of minor flaws in it (cheapie glass i guess) but there was no difference in the way the car sounded afterwards.

Probably not good news, but........

Got mine replaced

I had a 2007 Fit Sport (Now have a 2010 Fit Sport) and had to get the windshield replaced. Got it through Hendersons Glass. Noticed the company who made the windshield was Pinkerton.

To answer your last question. I think I would just get an intake. Makes that engine purr more like a growl. Might not sound like a V8 but mine sounds like a big V6

Had a rock hit mine this summer. Cost about US$400 to change, no difference in sound. I'm thinking something got left out when yours was replaced.

I also had a 2007 (now 2010) and just a few week's ago an acorn fell and craked my window. It was replaced at my house by some guy and I noticed a few unsealed spot's but no extra noise's.I will say,I've posted hearing Ticking/Clattering before on both of my Fit's(along with other's)even before my new replacement window.I think your listening closer for any new noise's since you replaced your window(I know I was)and now have noticed the engine noise.Just turn on the radio.

Had mine replaced this summer because of stone cracks (thanks NYS Thruway) and haven't noticed any change in cabin noise.

Looks like the two upper corners were pushed in to make them fit though, I don't have a smooth curve from one side to the other anymore.

I'm guessing its the cheaper aftermarket glass.

Well I was right, I took the car back to the glass shop, and thankfully, they were good with their customer service. They brought the car in, removed the winshield, then got a new seal kit and re-installed the windshield. All is good again! the extra noise is gone and the car is "new quiet" again. Thanks for all the imput guys! Turns out they didn't install it right the first time.

Same with mine - cold day, small ship and crack. Drove it with a crack for 8 months. Had it replaced with aftermarket glass (identical and a hair thicker) and used an OEM seal. You need to make sure they use a Honda seal here (new one). Fit glass cracking is happening quite a bit according to my service adviser.
