My Fit(pics) playing in the SNOW(BLIZZARD)

I live about an hour from downtown chicago and this is what it looked like here

It was insanity here

All school and colleges closed
Major highways shut down
Some countys were pulling there plows because it would not help

One of the pics is a 4 foot drift in my driveway and a drift somehow in my garage

I'm in CT and I we have more snow overall this year (based on what I see in those pics)--although not for this particular storm. You can't even see the mailboxes out here. They are buried in mounds of snow. And, yeah, I have to shovel the inside of my garage after a bad storm too.

I love the snow blower. I need one of those.

Its def a life saver---shoveling would be my full time job if it were not for the snow blower

Great pictures! Poor little Fit out in the snow! I talked with my cousin in Chicago and it took her 2 hours to get home from work last night. Stay safe and warm!

Man, I still had to go to work today (joliet to woodridge). Needless to say I took the 4wd blazer instead. Nothing like the joy of mastering the 4 wheel drift in a car that would rollover if it hit a pebble. I have a snowblower but my uncle brings over his bobcat to get my driveway clear in about 10 minutes flat.

We got about 10" here so far. expecting anywhere from 14-18 today. that's on top of the 16" we already have. Used the Snow Blower this morning to clear about 5" of snow out of the driveway, about 8" at the road. My wife used it after noon and we've got a few inches left on the driveway.

I took the Ridgeline today, Picked up one of my staff members on the way in. My road had about 5" of snow between the tracks and about 1-2" of snow in the tracks. Parts of the main drag were bare but other areas were pretty messy. the parking lot at work was about 6" of snow.

Woohoo Winter! I have to say, I love sliding the Ridge around corners and into/out of parking lots. It's just enough slip to be fun but still safe.

The ridge is a great vehicle. comfy, Utilitarian, and fun. Ive pulled stumps with it, hauled trailers, and never had an issue with traction or even come close to getting stuck.

You should have no issues at those temps... Two mondays ago, it was -22f on my drive to work and while the clutch was very stiff, I was good to go for the ride to work. Wind chill was -30 to -40. (wind chill really doesn't effect a car, just people/animals) I only had a problem with the clutch when it was below -19F.

There's got to be at least 30" on the ground. Maybe more?

Northside Chicago here. They plowed the street my Fit was parked on. Got lucky. Saw lots of cars stranded because the streets weren't plowed...it was about knee deep.

Anyone see the pictures of Lake Shore Drive with the abandoned cars? That was an epic picture. Looked like nuclear fall out.

We haven't had much snow this year, though we got a metric crapload of ice this week.

Three winters ago we got this
