JDP Hood Question

Is the JDP vented hood safe for car washes and rain storms or not? Im thinking im gonna pick one up soon but im scared that with michigan weather the rain and snow will get in to the engine bay and cause damage.

If there is a hole, water will get to it.

your OEM hood is not water proof anyway, water gets in from your front grill and splash from your wheels all over the place. i have water stain on my engine cover and pretty much every where even with OEM hood...

As long as the hole doesn't drain the water DIRECTLY on top of the electrical system, you should be fine.

As a side note, i want to make a underbody panel just to keep the water out, is annoying because my engine bay gets super dirty in winter... ugh.

You will be fine. Biggest worry will be where your intake filter is if you run an aftermarket intake. Ram air style could be a problem depending on filter and hood hole location. Example: Hood vent is over filter, car is parked, rains 2", filter is soaked, you start car, water in engine.
