Full Cargo Mat

I am looking for a cargo mat for the back of my new fit. I will occasionally be transporting a lawn mower in the back and I want something that will cover the back of the seats when they are laying down.

Honda's mat only covers the cargo area with the seats up. Does anyone know of a mat that protects the seat backs as well?

Sorry, just found this...

I was looking for "cargo mat" and when I searched for "cargo liner" it popped right up.

But, if anyone has found anything new (that thread is fairly old). Let me know.

If you're willing to spend big bucks, there is an Elemmat to fit the Fit. It comes with 2 pieces, one to cover the "trunk" and one that rolls up to cover the seat backs when they are folded down.

If you want to spend little bucks, you can get big industrial door mats at your local Lowe's/Home Depot type store for about $20 each. Buy two, cut them to shape one for the trunk, one for the seat backs. There are a couple DIY threads on here somewhere.

I went to lowes, spent 20 bucks on an area rug and 12 bucks on a roll of velcro. Cut the carpet to shape. Tacked the hook 1/2 of the velco (adhesive backed so it didn't take much) to the carpet backing. Then laid it into the back of the fit. I cut 2 pieces for the back 2 seats and 1 larger piece for the back. Stays in place when seats are up. Put the seats down and it's ready to go. Much better protection that the stock "carpet". I carry a bike frequently in the back so I wanted something back there. When it's something dirty, I would add in a tarp.

Here's what I did. It's still holding up well.

I bought a 5lb moving blanket that I keep rolled up (pretty compact) in the cargo area. Haven't had the occasion to use it yet but it will cover the entire cargo area with seats folded down. It's actually larger than the entire cargo surface area so that allows me some flexibility to use the excess as protection between items. Plus it's fairly cheap so if it gets messed up over time I'll just buy another one.

Added benefit of the moving blanket, if you ever get stuck in the snow and stranded it will double as an emergency blanket to keep you from freezing until help arrives.
