Any High Mileage Fits Out There?

I leased a 2010 Crystal Black Fit in January. I commute a lot of miles so I opted for a 15,000 mile a year lease.

I have a buy back option for a reasonable price after three years. I'm wondering if there are any high mileage fits out there and what issues may have popped up after 45,000 miles.

Any transmission issues? Major repairs? etc.

thanks in advance

Not exactly high mileage but a 2009 with 43,200 miles. No issues whatsoever still on original brakes and tires (tires nearly gone though). Car went to the dealer last week for the very first time, LMS recall. Other than that oil and filter changes per Maintenance minder, one air filter and one cabin filter replaced.

09 with 80k......no issues....LMS Recall complete. Flushed the transmission fluid twice (just to be on the safe side). Other than that just needed tires. Car runs like the day I bought it.

63k here on an 09. Sounds better after the valve adj that came with the LMS (sweet!). Runs well though I had to replace the brakes.

Since I drive in NJ and NYC my steering wheels feels looser than my uncles fit with 30k. Could need an adjustment though I wanted to make a thread addressing the steering and if anyone can explain why it would feel lighter or looser.

Shocks have gotten softer also. Might replace springs and shocks soon.

My '07 (not the same, I know) had 93,500 when I got rid of it at the beginning of this month. I got it with 12 on it and besides regular maintenance, I never had a single issue.

Any idea on when the timing belt would go on the fit? Seems like us high mileage fits have to keep up with such things...

our fits dont have a timing belt. it has a chain. as for the belt it runs the alternator, ac compressor and i think a water pump.

i currently have about 53,000 miles on mine and i havent had any mechanical problems but, i have a clicking noise when i turn my steering wheel off center to the right when sitting at a stop light.

ill get it checked out and will let you guys all know if whether its a blown CV boot, worn bushing, loose tie rod, bad steering rack.

09 Sport, 77k at last fillup.

Only service has been a few oil changes and tire rotations.

Wore through the stock Dunlops and replaced them at about 46K with Cooper CS4 Touring tires, 205/50R16.

Replaced the air filter & cabin filter twice, due again soon I think...

Had the LMS recall done last month.

Probably will take car in to the dealer for a 75K service, as soon as finances permit.

No problems at all with the car so far...

09 Fit base 5 speed
124,300
Oil every 3500-4000 miles
Tranny fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid, coolant every 25k miles
Air filter and cabin filter every 15k
Water pump, thermostat, new belts, new hoses at 75k

3 sets of pads and rotors
original shoes in the back
4 sets of tires

Broken windshield 2 times, few scratches and dings...

Abnormal wear...
both door panels have small cracks below the fabric where your elbow goes... unnoticeable until you look for it
Steering wheel... right side of it where the plastic bit goes is a bit worn out ... the paint on it
Umm Power button on the radio the paint wore off
Someone at the dealer dented the rocker panel on the right side when getting off the lift and that was repainted and fixed...

As far as the bad....
Broken AC relay at like 99k miles
front shocks replaced at 76k
rear shocks at like 92k
seized left front caliper at 90k
OE clutch but has maybe 5-10k left in it
Trunk latch broke from the outside at 33k miles
random rattle from glove box from time to time

As it sits other than summer tires which I need to order .... the car needs nothing I am comfortable to get in and go to Cali and back. The next major service at 150ish gets a flush of all fluids again and a new radiator because I dont trust anything to last this long even with proper care. Still waiting to do the spring recall on the motor but the appointment is like in 2 weeks.

And it was always dealer serviced.

09 Fit 77,000

-oil changes (0w-20) about every 8-9k
-engine air filters x 2
-cabin air filter x 1
-new tires x 6 (tread still very good on my 205/50/16 Kumhos)

I will change the front wipers soon. Original brakes still functioning fine. I'll probably upgrade when they finally wear out.

latest MGP average: 37

I only have a couple issues:
-molding around the base of the driver door has shredded (no big deal)
-some of the paint has chipped off up front (again no big deal)

We have about a dozen Fit ownerswho drop by for bench racing, real racing, and mods. So far none have had a problem of any worth in ones with 60,000 miles. Now if you want to consider mods to improve their cars so far there has been only a couple of problems but they caused them, not the Fit and once corrected have motored serenely on. well, perhaps fiendishly in a couple of cases. But I say you have a good bet in your 15k/yr lease unless you exceed the mileage or allowable wear and tear. Some leases are brutal in that case so be glad you have a buyout claus assuming its based on a neutral index like NADA, black book, or Kelly resale values.
PS make sure you don't mod the car in such a way as requiring fender mods or engine mods; that will be VERY costly. Any mods you make sure you can return to stock easily. An example is proper offset aftermarket wheels and tires.
good luck.
