Calculated gas mileage higher than Fit gas mileage display
Calculated gas mileage higher than Fit gas mileage display
Any others with this? This fill the calculated mileage was 41.47 (318.2 miles / 7.672 gals) and the gas mileage display showed 38 mpg. The fuel gauge was a tad under a quarter of a tank. Therefore, that leaves 2.928 gallons left in the tank. After the fill the fuel gauge read over the full mark with one click. . Does that seem right?
I dont have a Fit right now but I have a Civic with an Ultra Gauge and its off too, but I can correct it as I drive and at fill ups. The gasoline stations can be off too and would not be surprised that it is the difference between the OBC and what you pump in. Stations have to make their profit too at our expense.

Another fill , this time a little less than the overall average of the display . Computer 39 , calculated mileage 38.52 ( 226.9 mis. / 5.889 gals at 1 click of nozzle ) . VALERO 87 w/ 10% ethanol , 2 people , tires at 34+1/2 p.s.i. , winds 15 m.p.h. . average speed of 46 , and temp of 58 . 30% city / 70 highway with many steep hills to climb . Tank was a little less than 1/2 mark before refill , needle slightly above full .
There is not problem with your fit. All sounds good. The smaller amount you use to fill up the greater the margin of error. The more the first and less the second shows the error. If you continue to fill up at less than empty, maybe try averaging you mpg over several fill ups to reduce the error.
Just filled the fit again today. Drove 196.4 miles with 3 people in it half of the time. Tires at 35 p.s.i. and many steep hills to climb. Computer showed 36.8 and the calculated mileage was 36.55. Tank read slightly above half before fill and is now slightly above full with one click of gas nozzle. Seems to be more accurate for now. Car has a little over 1100 miles and oil life is now at 90%.
