Angry scratches by fingernails

I was just trying to remove some dirt of the hood and somehow my thumb wasn't on the cloth. In the end I noticed that the fingernail of my thumb seems to have left some significant scratches on the hood (I couldn't believe that it's possible to unintentionally scratch the car finish with a fingernail!?!
Anyway, so I just want to warn everyone here and I was also wondering if anyone has similar experiences and any suggestions how to get rid of them?

use a decent quality car care product that has polish, and the polish will mask the scratch.
E.g. meguiars swirl and scratch remover.
then use a good quality wax to protect.
If the scratch is not that bad, most consumer level waxes already include an amount of polish, so that by itself will mask the scratch.

Meguiars cleaner/wax is a great product I've used that should take care of it also.

sounds like you should have used some Rvinyl paint protection kits.
That or get some extra coats of clear coat done on your car after you fix it. If your finger nails can scratch the paint, you'll need something or just imagine what some pebble's/rocks bouncing from the road will do over the years.

A lot of newer cars are switching to water based paints I have heard. Which just do not hold up as well.
