Expert opinon needed on 2009 Sport - engine part id?
Hi everyone,
My eternal search for a Fit is nearing its end. It is rough out there. I was looking for a 2009 Sport and 5 times the car was gone before I could finalize the deal. Gas prices are certainly causing the Fit market "fits"
Need some help here. I am going tomorrow to close on a 2009 Sport with VSA, navi, A/T. I test drove the car and noticed that the dealer put 4 tires on the vehicle but TPMS light is now on. Is this a major deal? Would a bent wheel cause the indicator. I checked the air pressure, drove the car and alignment seemed fine. Deal breaker?? Or should I ask the dealer for reimbursement to fix? What is the cost for this type of TPMS fix?
Also, can someone tell me the potential consequences of rust on the part with purple cap in the below picture? Car has 43K so I expect some minor issues but want to avoid major ones. Thanks for your help.

The TMPS light should be off before you buy the car. If the dealer put new tires on it, with the stock rims, its possible he damaged one of the tmps sensors, which isn't particularly cheap to fix, though its not crazy expensive. Alternatively, it needs the sensors programed into the computer, which again the dealer needs to do.
Isn't that picture a GD not a GE?

Surface rust on that part isn't an issue. It doesn't have any finish on the steel body so it rusts. You could coat with oil or grease to prevent further rusting.
Yeah that picture is from the first gen not the GE.
