Armrest

Do you think this would fit my Fit 2011 MT?

Yes it will. Did yours not come with one?? Just make sure there is a spot in the side of your seat for it.

Those are standard on Sport models - works fine. They are optional on Base models.

No optional for me... Is it a good price on Ebay or should I ask my dealer? And what do you mean by the spot in the side of the seat? You mean the place where one can put bottles, right?

BTW, what do you think is better? The first armrest from the first link posted here or this one central: 09 10 Honda New Fit Black Leather Console Armrest | eBay

And is it easy to install on base model?

Thanks!

Fitter...

Check out a few things.

First, I'm not sure if the Base has the necessary hardware inside the side of the seat to bolt the OEM sport armrest to. It attaches to the side of the Driver's Seat on the sport.

Second, The Aftermarket center console is only attached by a screw I believe in the bottom of the console. others have had this and have later forked over later for the OEM Console. If you can save up the difference, go for the OEM Honda Armrest.

there are a few different threads on the Aftermarket center console armrest so I'd read up on them.

i've had that armrest in my fit for the last 2 years...it worked great, however i found my g/f was always leaning on my side to use the arm rest cuz she didn't have one. an 8 hour drive was coming up and i decided to fork the cash out to buy the OEM armrest. IMO, better than the stock sport one. like specboy said, if you can save to for the OEM, do so. it'll be much better in the long run for ya.

best of luck

I check my seat if there is any bolt to put the OEM armrest on... Unfortunately, as I have a DX (base) model, I think there isn't... Does it mean I can't go that way and I need a center console? I want to be as comfortable as possible...

First, even if you had the seat hardware to attach it to, the basic Fit Sport armrest is crap. It feels cheap, way too small and in the wrong spot (in my opinion of course). The OEM center console armrest is the only way to go. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. Very solid and substantial, which is exactly what you want in an armrest.

Do not get that armrest. I had that armrest in my Sport I got last month and it was the first thing I got rid of. I put in the Honda center armrest console. Much more comfortable and now I have a little storage near me. It's very easy to install this yourself to save a few bucks.

I actually like that armrest quite a bit. I'd consider getting the center console if I hated it as much as the people before me but I'm quite ok with it.

Thanks for the reply. I will look for the center console...

I am curious... How do you install it? I mean: the Sport model has places to put screws, but I don't think the base model has..

The OEM center consle bascially attaches to where the two rear center cupholders are now. I had never modified a car before, but I was able to install this using the provided instructions in about 30 minutes. There are also some threads on this forum about installing it.

It'll fit, but isn't as good. The OEM one mounts via brakets to the car's metal under the console. That just attaches to the plastic from what I can tell.

hello, first time poster, I'm looking at these 3 armrests, they're looking like the same to me, but different prices, any idea on which one to get? I really don't want the experience of taking my car apart and drill a few holes in it. So I won't be getting the OEM armrest, also the price is a concern as well. Thanks

As stated before. The OEM will pay for itself after you decide that you don't like the aftermarket solutions. the problem with the above ones is that they rely on dropping into the cupholder and one or two screws into plastic in order to secure them. they can't take much weight or pressure in any direction other than straight down over the screws and that NEVER happens in a vehicle. Armrests take lots of sideways pressure which is why they need to be secured properly.

OEM is the way to go (I realize you don't want to take this route but...) it is the only one out there that really is solid enough to take daily use and last more than a few years. Also the OEM flips up.

Remember that you get what you pay for and you won't be getting much for $55.
