I have noticed that paint isn't one of the Fit's strong points, so easy to scratch.

They'll probably buff it out for you, no biggie.

are you talking about that scratch?

is it deep enough that your fingernail can get caught in it? if not, you can try a wash/polish/wax, or just wash and wax. that might fix it.

They might argue that you got the scuff after you picked it up.

Is that license plate bracket screwed into the bumper?

Well at the dealership that I picked it up from, i have a friend that works there, he is who told me that they finally had a silver sport. I mean I know it happens, but I didnt even do it. There is no way I did that, its behind the license plate. and it isnt screwed into the bumper.

If you keep the license plate bracket on, you will get a line like mine. I noticed it after only 2 months of buying it. I decided to take the whole thing off.

Just take it back and ask them to buff it out. Looks like a surface scuff.

Also, take off that from plate and remount it underneath. It will wear a line into you paint like above.

Take it back to the dealer and demand them fix the paint. I had a scratch on my car after I purchased mine and they tried buffing it out. Only ended up worse. They finally took it to a paint shop and had it fixed free of charge. Be vigilant with that type of stuff otherwise the dealer will blow you off.

Due to FIT's delicate OEM paint job, i am thinking of installing a front bra, perhaps a transparent one because I am not fond of the looks of the black bras.

Anyone has any experience regarding the the pros and cons of transparent bra and black bras in terms of upkeep, maintenance, cause stains on the paints underneath the bra etc?

Yes. Stay away from the fabric bras. They will have the same effect on your paint as would happen if you took a dry towel and wiped down the front of you car after you drove it for a few days. Any dirt, dust or debris that gets between it and your painted surface will be just like a fine sand paper.

I've never had a clear bra but I know a lot of people with exotic type cars that swear by them.

I had clear bra done on my entire hood and bumper. Great investment IMO. Have had it done to many of my cars. Best advice, go to someone that knows how to install it, don't just go for the cheapest unless they have a great amount of references.

you get what you pay for with clear bra

Thanks. Typically how many years will the clear bra lasts before you can see the discoloration of the clear plastic?
