MUGEN Rear Lip Will Work With Which Exhausts?
Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but I was just wanting to check if anyone has the MUGEN rear lip and is running an exhuast other then MUGEN if they have any problems with rubbing or rattling if it sits to close or on the actual lip itself?
I would like to keep everything factory accessory or JDM (other then suspension & wheels) so the MUGEN exhaust is my first choice, but I would consider TANABE, HKS or GREDDY if the lip works with them. Would be a bit cheaper too. Please let me know if you guys have any experience with it. Thanks again!

For the touring medalions, grind the precious 4" tip off. Done.
Maybe get a small piece of extension pipe welded onto it so it clears the opening. The end would look the same as the mugen exhaust model made for the bumper, which has no tip.

Is the $600 Mugen exhaust worth not having to play around with other exhausts for 40 hours? haha I think I'll try whatever I can so I don't have to end up spending another 600

Considering the other exhaust I would consider is more expensive, it's fine that the Mugen is rather quiet and subdued. I can re-do the rest of the exhaust when I do the engine swap.

Alright so to answer the question once and for all, with the right amount of work you can make probably any exhaust fit with the MUGEN rear lip. I only took a few pics since I was on a time crunch, but you'll get the idea once you get in there and start playing with it.
My exhaust of choice was the MUGEN that is meant for the sport bumper WITHOUT the rear MUGEN lip. I went this route because I got a great deal on it and it would probably be easier to sale down the road if I decided to.
There are 3 screws that hold the metal finisher in place where your exhaust comes out on the passenger side. You can remove those 3 screws and the finisher will come right out.
The finisher piece is ALL metal (I thought just the tip was and the inside was plastic. Wrong!) Once removed I started to trim away until I had enough clearance for the exhaust tip not to touch and rattle.
Once I overcame that problem the exhaust tip itself was pushing back on part of the MUGEN lip that is covered by the metal finisher piece so it was no big deal taking a dremel to it and cutting what I needed off.
The exhaust does not come all the way out, it sits just a little bit passed the stock bumper and with the modifications I made it had perfect clearance and nothing touched at all.
Once the exhaust was on it sounded better then I imagined it would have.
I hope this helps those that are wanting to do an exhaust but not dish the money on the MUGEN or hack a perfectly good exhuast in order for it to fit the MUGEN rear.

Not sure what a stock civic SI sounds like. I drive 90 miles a day in this car 1 way, so I didn't want anything loud and annoying since I do a lot of business calls during my commute through bluetooth.
When I'm cruising at normal speeds it sounds stock to me, but when I have to get on it the sound is nice.
