New Fit owner

Hi All,
Just picked up a '12 Fit Sport. I've liked this car since the 1st gen was released in the US. I need a fun car that's good on gas for my 120 mile daily commute and the Fit seems like the best choice. Just need to get a new Nav/Audio head unit , my V1 hardwired and a good set of snow tires. Here's a few pics.

Congrats on your Fit - I like what they did with the carpet mats in the 2012! Winter tires are a good idea - the stock tires are a compromise regardless of season.

Would love to have your garage.

Thanks, Looking at the Michelin X-Ice in either 15" or 16" and a set of winter wheels.

Nice choice of vehicles.

As for the Hardwire of the V1, Check out my sig for a quick DIY on doing this. I've had my V1 for 11 years now and use it every day. It's been installed in 4 different cars and hardwired in 3 of them. (I still have to hook up the concealed display for the FIT)

I'm running General Altimaxx Arctic snow tires and they served me well last winter here in VT.

Thanks for the reminder - I still have to get my V1 hardwired in the Si. Ran wires to it but using the power adapter right now... I'm liking the add-a-fuse method of tapping in for power. I have it hidden somewhat behind the rear-view mirror now on the passenger side, since I have the concealed display just to the left of the i-VTEC indicator lights.

davett - let us know if you need TPMS info for the winter wheels. You'll need sensors to be able to defeat VSA when needed.

I just got the same thing as you in M/T…. 2012 Sport MT BLACK

I like mine but I notice the paint is rather cheap so far

Curious, the 1M in the background is 6MT correct? they dont make it in DCT or SMG IIRC

I haven't look too closely at the paint, got to check it out in the morning.
The 1M is a 6spd manual, the GT-R is a 6speed dbl clutch

Love the 2012 wheels. Welcome! Btw BMW 1 series M is beautiful---reminds me of the e30 m3 for some reason...I think because the m3 lost it's roots and this took it's place.

Many thanks! After I sold my Goldwing I was pursuing the 1M but it wasn't in the cards. And as much as I am a car guy, I still refuse to pay over MSRP. The cheapest 1M I could find was still $1000 over (and allocations were dwindling). I'm still trying to figure out why Bimmer limited production of the 1M (since the 1 series in general is a hot seller and the 1M is damn near M3 performance for 20 grand less!) In the mean time, I building my man cave to house my future Bimmer!

I was lucky to get the last of 2 allocations at my dealer for MSRP. Love your new man cave
