Cool Dome light cover removal

Good day All! Does some one know how to remove the dome light (roof) cover so as to change the bulb?
Thanks!

pry it open. Find a small screwdriver, look around the edge for some notches, get to work.

While you are at it, get an led bulb and change the color. I used blue. Brighter, and the color change is nice. Changed the front 2 bulbs and the luggage area ones too.

I used to have blue, you'll realize that you can't see shit with it though and it'll be just for looks. Changed mine for 5000k (hyper white) leds

Don't know what you had, but the blues I got are much brighter than the stock ones. I can see much better.

Brighter combined with monochromatic doesn't always result in being able to see better. Blue is actually the worst offender in this regard because the eyes link blue light with brightness and constrict, blocking the ability to see stuff other than anything blue.

It's ok. I still like mine better, and they light up the whole interior. I think they are 12 led bulbs.

Exactly what Malraux said, When I need my interior lights I want to be able to see every little detail. The blue hurts my eyes and ruined night vision more than anything else and I had a twelve led board in the dome light plus a 9 led board in the trunk. It was bright as all hell, but it didn't mean I could see. It was pretty much purely aesthetical lighting. With the hyper whites I can literally see anything and everything clearly with out having to strain my eyes.

Not saying you shouldn't use them. Just telling you why I don't and giving everyone else a second opinion on the blue LED's

I went with cool white LEDs everywhere except the driver's map light, which is red, as it should be.

I am a flight instructor, and yes, the red works well for night vision.

Tried to source a cluster from Japan cause I don't mind the KMPH. Damn thing was a little over 600 USD right now not including shipping. Can't even be sure that it'll be the red one either. I was just like "errmmmmm yeaaaaah eff that..."

There was one on ebay about 2+yrs ago from a GE6 (red) it was going for around $250-$300... It was on ebay for a whiiiiile before it sold.

I'm thinking next time I'm overseas this might be an item to search for in some junkyards. EDM also has the red, and is in kph which doesn't bother me either.

Wait, European Domestic Market has the red gauge clusters? Would you happen to have a part number/name or know what year/model it was available on? I'm pretty sure I have someone in the UK that could get one if I can get him the info. This is something I reaaaaaallly want for my GE like more than any other visual modification

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken European Fits have the red gauges, also all the pics I've seen from NZ, Australia also have the red guages. Unfortunately I don't have a part #. Maybe some overseas fitfreaks can assist?

This was a mod that I really wanted to do (still do), but I just didn't want to deal with the install, or trying to source a part in good shape, especially not knowing the part #. There was some mention about this like 3 yrs ago and a few of us wanted it & I believe it should be a direct swap, but not 100% sure, so that's another reason I lost interest.

But, this little mod here got me really interested ---> LEDmod.com Color Changing Gauge Face [Shift Light] - YouTube
Blue guages which change to red at a certain rpm.... Now that I want!
Looks like their taking inquiries/orders now?

I also wanted to do the passenger seat back swap to regain "refresh" mode (like in the GD3's); another project within itself. Apparently our USDM fit's front seats are larger for us "healthier" Americans, so we lose out on refresh mode. Oh, and did you know that other markets get a rear passenger armrest?

I wish I could just import a Fit and just register it, but then what fun would I get modding my car to get options available in other markets.

Speaking of dome lights anyone see this new dome light from Honda?

From everything I've read it will be a direct swap. Your milage will just be off because it is stored in the cluster.

The ledmods.com thing looks a little more flashy than what I was going for. A single led to show i-vtec kicking in like 555sexydrive has is plenty for me.

If I could import one I'd probably get a JDM White RS with the 6 speed.

And I'm pretty sure that dome light thing supports "gay man love". As Jeremy Clarkson would say.

^^^ ahahahaaa...

The little blue & pink bubbles are positive & negative ions... Sharp's plasmacluster ---> SHARP Plasmacluster
Plasmacluster features
Was thinking about getting that, it's supposed to clean the air from cigarette smoke, mold/virus spores, & purify the air.

Helps with the carbon dioxides in the car (imitating Jeremy Clarkson)

Good luck with the swap & post up pics/part#'s when you get it done, it will definitely be unique (in the US), and will look great!
