I used to use K&N filters on my cars, until I decided they weren't worth the hype. On one hand they say they increase HP due to freer flowing air. On the other they say the efficiency of the filtering rises as a layer of dirt builds up on the outside! Gee, you mean a dirty air filter is a better one? I don't think so! Save your money and stick with stock...unless an after market intake's louder noise is what floats your boat! My 2012 base Fit has 23k miles, runs great, has given me a lifetime 32mpg and hits 40mpg on the highway if I cruise control and don't goose it.

Congratulations on the purchase! I have a 2012 as well. K&N filters (I'm assuming using the stock airbox) are just as easy to change as paper ones. You just don't change it as frequently. Washing it is easy just either have a paper one handy if you plan on driving since it takes about a day to dry. I just saved the original paper filter in a ziplock bag.

If you were closer, I could sell you the OEM mats since I opted for the all weather ones. The carpet ones are nicely bagged sitting in storage. Hope you enjoy!

Really digging the car. Look forward to learning more about it, and taking advantage of all your expertise.

Question about the K & N air filter - is it easy to change? Are there any downsides to installing, and will the car still pass emissions with it?

Also--I need floor mats, but the OEM mats sure seem expensive. Any recommendations or comparable alternatives? Thanks.

Wow, good job! I got nearly the exact same car back in September for $15.5K OTD. I feel like a chump! :violin: ;)

But like you, I love my little Fit Sport. It's an awesome car, and this is a great community.
