Cargo shelf installation question

My wife bought me a cargo shelf for my newly-purchased 2010 Fit Sport. How the heck do you find the spots on the back of the seat to install the snaps? The box included a brief owner's manual, but not much regarding the installation. I found a YouTube video, but I'm still not exactly sure where to start poking through the backs of the seats.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Somewhere the instructions tell you how to measure. It entails a lot of poking with a pin but you'll eventually find the spot, just be patient and poke away.

Tom- if you haven't already installed the snaps & do not want to--many of us do not ever snap the flap & Honda didn't even make the Cargo shelf with the snapping flap in 2012.

Does the new version of the shelf still have the gap between the shelf and the seats, and do you know if it'll still fit a 2010?

Thanks,
Tom

The 2012 should fit the 2010s; this thread has some discussion on that as well as some photos of the gap.

Thanks again...

Being new to the Fit, I didn't know that the rear seats reclined. It only took an inch or so to nicely bridge the gap between the seats and the cover.

Regards,
Tom

Old or New Shelf

I ordered a cargo shelf for my 2012 Fit Sport from "hondapartssuperstore" and they shipped me the old shelf for the prior model years. This one has the added fabric and snaps for attaching it to the seat backs.

The older shelf is great for the 2012 Fit. You can drape the fabric over the backs of the rear seats and block any view of the cargo area regardless of the rear seat back vertical position. I added some sealant to the inside of each of the snaps on the cargo shelf to eliminate slight rattles in the snaps as you go over bumps.
