Since the Pilot has 7 seaters.
I'm thinking to trade in my 2011 FIT for it.
the dealer quote the used pilot EX-L for $20k,
my 2011 FIT sport, auto, with 11k miles.
how much do you think the dealer will give?

Is there any member is Honda salesperson here?

That is funny. When I went to buy my fit, the dealer didn't have any so while we were placing the order this guy drives up in a Fit He had it for 3 days and was willing to take the hit in the shorts to trade it in on a Pilot.

I got my 2008 sport with 350 miles on it for $12,000.00 since it was used. The dealer wanted 16, rode over to the bank got cash and tried them at 10g cash, the dust settled at 12g cash greenbacks.

You should be happy with a Pilot. It serves our family of two (soon to be 3) well. Tows what we need it to tow, and it does haul 6-7 people on occasion comfortably. Does excellent in the snow and almost as well light off-roading. Just be easy on the throttle - it doesn't take much to return 18mpg. The wife isn't careful but usually returns 20. I get as much as 24 when I drive.

Because the Fit is in demand, you may be better off selling it yourself, if you can wait a bit longer. Then again, the sales tax credit may help you out a little bit, too. You should be able to get 11-12k for it, especially in the city.

Haaaaaaa. The switch from the Fit to the Pilot will be enormous. From small to big! The Pilot gas mileage sucks. You will miss that. The Pilot is recommended and a nice vehicle with lots of space. The CRV make be a good bet too if you want more space and not such a larger vehicle. Good luck. You are going to lose big money by trading your new Fit into the dealer. Really, you should keep your Fit. If you must get the Pilot, sell the Fit to a private party and then go buy the Pilot.

Your Fit is worth more than $11-12k someone suggested...even as a dealer trade.
I sold cars, you can hold out until you get AT LEAST $16k for it.
Don't forget they already calculate how much they'll retail it for, and profits from their Pilot sale to you.

I would ask for 17 for pilot, 18 fit, then work it in small increments from here until u make a deal. Walk if u r not happy.they will fold.
And make sure u get new floor mats and a free oil change in the future.

You are correct. A minimum of 14,500 for trade, 15-16 for private party. I posted before I researched.

Wait. You think that you are going to get 14.5 trade? The new '12s are in the 17s. Best of luck. Sell it private party. I think your numbers are pretty close to it.

If you do get that kind of money on trade, please list the dealer. I will drive my 09 with 107k on it there when I want to trade up.
