$75 should buy a lot of forms filled out. Most places (outside of car dealers) will just include the associated paperwork as part of the deal.

Again, depends on the state. If you're helping out someone also in MN, then I'd expect to see the same $75 as limited by law, and then you'll be looking for a lot of nothing.

If you're helping someone out in a different unlimited state, there are different local customs, so don't immediately call BS, you'll have to eat your words when you can't find anyone in that state with a $75 fee.

Since I'm doing my taxes right now, I can say that I made >$700 in interest payments on my checking and savings last year. Would have been even higher but when I moved it took a few months to get my local high interest checking account set up correctly.

$35*12*5=$2100. That buys a lot of repairs.

$0

payed cash for my 08 Si (2+yrs ago) and same for my 09 fit.

just put away money every month like you're making a payment. sell your old car, add in your savings, blammo - no payments.

if the world exploded, i wouldn't be stuck with a car payment.

So instead of monthly payments I piss it away on mods.
I took my checkbook with me, but for 0.9% I financed. at that time my checking account paid 0.7% it is now up to .8%, 1 more tenth % and I'm even.

Did you take into account they usually jack the price a few hundred if you finance vs cash?

Hi everybody I'm new here and just reading all those numbers makes my head swim...

I'm 16 today (yea!) and will be taking (and passing) my driver's test in 6 days

My dad was super nice and bought me a 2009 Fit Sport with only 35,000 miles on it. It's orange like I wanted and I love it. He said if I had to finance it it would cost a lot of money, I guess he was right!
