Long time Lurker ->Proud New Owner

I've been lurking reading for quite some time. My last car purchase was last fall and I opted for Honda Insight over the Honda Fit. Well, the Insight was totaled 2 weeks ago (Performed admirably in a car wreck by the way)

This time I made the right choice! My 2012 Honda Fit SPort 5MT is 2 days old and I have to say I LOVE this car. It seems unbelievable and very unexpected that I could be this happy with a $16k car. Not that I'm materialistic but I didn't think it possible.

I was torn beween auto w/NAV and the manual and I'm sooo glad I went for MT. Just my persona preference but the car 1,000 times more fun to drive with the silky smooth stick.

Anyway, wanted to say "Hey" and thank all those that post with advice and tips. I learned a lot on this forum and plan to keep on it for tips with mods and other improvements.

Awesome car. Polished metal. I'll figure out how to post a picture and follow up with that soon.

Welcome! I too am very happy with my Fit! I have maybe 500 miles on it. I still can't get over how roomy it feels and how much cargo there is for such a small car. Oh and economy is in style so a $16k car getting 40mpg is in!

Congratulations! I just put my deposit down today for a 2012 Silver MT and I can not wait to receive it! I was also torn over the AT/MT decision but the MT is just beautiful in this car, definitely more fun IMO.

Polished metal is really nice too, I was torn between that and the silver but my wife's Pilot is PM so I wanted something a little different.

How has your gas mileage been so far?

Good luck with it!

Hey! Welcome all! Glad to see so many like-minded folks here. I too found it very hard to choose between the PM and Alabaster, MT was a no-brainer. Did you have to factory order your rides? (I did)

Enjoy!

Welcome.

I too enjoy the smooth shift throws on the Fit MT, it makes a 117hp car actually pretty fun to drive.

I now have about 500 miles on the car and LOVING it. Mileage has been around 35 - 38 without trying. I absolutely love the MT. High revs on the highway have not been an issue for me. I took about a 100 mile (each way) road trip on Friday and stayed 75 - 80 mph for most of the way. Very comfortable and quiet enough for me.

I keep looking for reasons to go for a drive. Quite impressive for a car that cost under $17k.
