does anyone know anything about the FIT EV?

probably not.
heck, kinda wish I could buy one... if I had the money, I'd buy one, hack the top off and add solar panels and link that into the battery subsystem (for shits and giggles). Then look into adding smaller electric motors at the (rear) wheels... maybe they can double as generators.
the motors can then give the car a little bit of "4WD" action.
would be great fun for REALLY short runs... and if possible, extended (but slow) distance runs. If I'm lucky, the solar panels will add more than 1 mile to the range!!!
Just wished that the electric motor didn't have to go through a mechanical linkage. put the motors right on the wheel!!! but then, the problem is... there's not a whole lot of space to do that.
