What I think is interesting is the K&N filter and straight pipe exhaust. My question is will this really do anything, so many people here say no.

B-spec racing is restricted. Your only allowed a certain amount of HP per ton so teams try to squeeze everything they can from the car same as with any form of Motorsport.

Well unless they are doing it for sound it seems the dropin and pipe must do something otherwise it would be a disadvantage. What I am getting at is do intakes and exhaust improve horsepower or not in the Fit? It seems everyone says no and that the throttle just dials back or the computer re-adjusts.

I used to drive Maximas, had an '01, '03 and '05. Everyone said intakes did nothing yet my car would out perform others. I am new to Honda and wonder if the ECU dials back gains seen on the dyno after an intake install.

Yeah the ecu will adjust but I think it takes time. For B-spec intake and exhaust are really the only performance upgrades they can do to the car plus a aftermarket intake and exhaust weigh less than stock.

what's ur wheel/tire specs?
thanks

The ride is excellent. Much better damping than the stock setup. Tires are 195/55/15

Those Bilsteins aren't even close to the same spring rates as the ones you would get from the B-spec kit keep in mind...they probably have much stiffer valving as well.

I don't doubt that. These are great for the street though. Max spring rate for b-spec is 500 lbs per inch. Not sure what the rates on these are but they're fairly soft...at least the progressive part of the coil is.

They kinda do. Just go get your racing license and register as a b-spec racer. Then Honda will sell HPD parts to you.:vtec:

All you have to do is join SCCA/NASA compete in two separate events and you will have it. You could give honda your last 2 results on a sanctioned SOLO/Autocross event and have access to HFP parts.

HPD= Honda Performance Development (race only)

HFP= Honda Factory Performance (factory upgrades from the dealer)

For some reason I think the K&N is included for other reasons other than power adder. In B-Spec the Fit needs to run a TB restrictor from what i've seen, so wouldn't make much sense to add anything to the intake side.

As far as the exhaust goes, I think it will lose power on the bottom and gain at the top, where it needs to be for racing. Don't think of those mods as power adders, more like power tweakers.
