Best Offer So Far

So I've decided the Fit Sport will be my first new car. I'm looking at getting the 2012 Sport A/T Orange with the remote engine starter. I've searched this forum a lot and it has been very helpful. I'm in the process of emailing different dealers for the best price. So far the best OTD price I've got is $19,400 no talk of a trade in / down payment or financing. I've never bought a new car so just trying to get an idea if this is a decent offer for the options, and crook county tax is almost 8%. I would like to have the rear bumper applique, center arm rest and cargo cover, but I'm in no rush. Should I tell them to throw either the cargo cover or bumper applique in a no charge and take it. Thanks for any responses, I dont want to haggle like crazy but want a decent price.

Emailing dealers should get you quotes close to mkt price. Reason is you can easily search Internet for recent local sales prices vs msrp and see how much you can expect to pay, they know if they are too far off you'll go elsewhere. Then call and see what is included and what else you'll need to pay.

Rare you can get a tradein quote until they see the car, be aware that is where they have to make the margin theses days. It is all up for negotiation. They will not sell the car at a loss so the lowest they'll agree to is where you will get the best deal while still leaving them a small profit. It is tough all round, for me at least. Good luck!

That's a pretty decent price for OTD. That means you're getting the actual vehicle for around $17k and some change. I'd jump on it.

I agree, if you're talking OTD with tax/title/fees/etc, that's a great price. I assume this is a Sport without navi, right?
