2012 Fit Sport Road noise
I'll also add that the road your driving on can make a huge difference in the amount of road noise. Driving on the interstate on smooth asphalt even with the stock tires there is very little road noise in my 2012 Sport, but on rough concrete, etc. the road noise does get very loud!

Well, I'll wait till these tires wear down. I think they are Dunlops. I can't see putting sound deadening insulation in it. I know if I bring it back to the dealer they will just say it's normal. But this kind of noise is not normal. Really disappointed. I'll just live with it I guess.
When we had the stock tires on the Fit, most of the time it sounded like we were driving on a gravel road. Fortunately that problem has been solved and my son enjoys his car.

My road Noise went down when I put on the Hankook Ventus 205/50/16 tires. they have a great tread wear rating and handle really well. Doesn't hurt that they were about $85/tire installed. Only time will tell on how long they'll last but the stock tries only lasted me about 27K miles. my stock GS-R tires went to 35K miles and they were one of the worst tires ever made.
Profile doesn't have a ton to do with road noise. tread pattern will make the biggest difference.

You still say you do not even know whether or not you have Dunlops (you do).
Step one. Walk out to your car, bend down, and read the sidewall of your tires. Write down all the info and numbers, and learn what it means as below.
Step two. Go to tirerack.com (google) and do some basic research. Spend a couple of hours researching.
Step 3. Google "sound deadening". Spend several hours researching.
Step 4. Come back to fitfreaks and search on "tire". Read the threads. Search on "deaden" and read the threads.
Step 5. Come back and ask educated questions, if your research did not answer all of it.
I can't see where I've dropped much (if at all) in fuel economy with the Hankooks. I like them and for the price, they couldn't be beat. their treadwear rating is extremely high compared to other tires and that's part of what I needed in a new tire. Quiet and sporty were the other two important things. Tires grip much MUCH better than the OEM and they should last about twice as long.

Not just any 205/50. Stay away from the Goodyear Eagle F1s - my car got significantly louder with them! This was coming from the stock dunlops. I put a pair of the Falken 612 on the fronts after a blowout from a 10' long 6x6 fell out of a big rig in front of me, and they are silent. Slightly taller than the Goodyears even though the same size (caused rubbing when the Goodyears cleared - lowered on Teins). Also, the Goodyears caused about a 1-2 mpg drop and putting the pair of Falkens on has recovered that to the stock mileage.
