2013 Fit Sport AT Midnight Plum & Cilajet, $17,698 + $1500 DMV + $250 tax/misc + $80 paperwork + $400 GAP Insurance (72mo) = approx. $19,900 OTD. I have terrible credit but put 2k down, got 72 months, 5% APR = $280 monthly payment. No co-signer required. I signed the contract 9/30 but will pick up the car this weekend... gives me seven days to deal with insurance, parking permits, accessories, etc.

I actually wanted a used 2009 Fit but couldn't find one under $7,000 with lowish miles that wasn't a salvage title. So I went three times over my budget because car dealers are DESPERATE to sell/finance new cars in this economy.

I spent two weeks online doing my research. Went in four days before the end of the month. Walked out twice. Got a callback and came back last day of the month 30 minutes before closing. Tried negotiating for Bumper Applique, Rubber Mats, etc. but no success. Even showed them printouts of 30% cheaper online @ HondaPartsSuperstore to no avail. Shame they couldn't price match the HondaCare quotes I got from Saccucci Honda [D82:96/120K = $965 (that's a 50% savings)]; wanted to roll it into the financing, but will have to purchase now separately before I hit 6mo/6,000 miles.

Overall, I wanted to only spend $17,200 but lost $500 ground because I like the purple color so much -- rarer than white I reckon. I think I did okay negotiating my first new car purchase by myself.

I bought my 2013 Polished Metal Honda Fit Sport manual transmmission on Monday for $17550 before tax title and license. I thought $300 off msrp wasn't to bad considering there's very little mark up on the Fits.

Did myself a little Black Friday shopping and picked up a TW 2013 Fit Sport AT for $17,488 + ttl. Thought it was a pretty good deal, as only one other dealer in the area (out of 18) was even willing to match it. Psyched about the car and loving it so far!

TrueCar.com provides accurate pricing data for the model you're shopping for in your area. Certified local dealers will sell at a predetermined hassle free discount. Even if you don't use the service, the prices are accurate.

Just picked up a 2013 Sport Auto in Midnight Plum for 17800 plus ttl in L.A.

SevereService 12-15-2012 06:10 PM

There are two prices...

The actual price of the car and the "out the door" price which includes tax, title, etc. So the "Out The Door" price is really what most people are looking for in this thread. Basically, what the final price will be to drive the car off the lot.

2013 Fit Sport AT (No Navi)

Just bought a Alabaster Silver Sport A/T. This was the only car and color they had in Sport AT in 2013 model. The other colors were in 2012 models and I did not want them. Sold my old Chevy today and then went to the Honda dealership with a 1.99% pre-approved finance. They did not like that I was not financing from them and would not let me drive away the car without trying to match or beat the finance rate. Finally after a long wait the finance guy offered me a 1.84% rate through Chase. So I took it and drove home the car. Am tired, so will post pics and other details later.

MSRP was 18321, NJ tax is 7% and I transferred plates from the car I sold today. My OTD price came to 20060.

This is my 2nd Honda. I had owned a new 2001 Civic with MT which I loved.
Bought the Fit with AT as wife is not comfortable with stick.

The actual price of the car is what is useful for comparison purposes. The OTD price is useless info without a full breakdown because of the difference in taxes and DMV fees from state to state. Now besides putting out your own useless information, you are encouraging others to do the same.

FIT85 12-16-2012 11:41 PM

19,200 after taxes/tag

I agree there. It would be very helpful if everyone can post all fees.

2013 Fit Sport Navi. $19,470 negotiated price, not counting trade-in. Destination charge for the New Orleans metro area was $970, included in the negotiated price. Trade-in was $3000, for out-of-pocket price of $16,470.

Dealer had a supplemental window sticker citing the addition of pinstriping, locking lugnuts, and "paint and fabric protection" and added $1400 to the MSRP for that. Fortunately, I already knew that "paint protection" means they washed and waxed it, and "fabric protection" means they sprayed it with Scotchguard. I was able to get that extra $1400 down to just $89, included in that $16,470.

I added side window vent visors, rear bumper appliqué, body side molding, and cargo cover at the time of purchase, at dealer's retail cost based on parts department (not service department) pricing. No extra installation charges.

I handled TT&L myself at the DMV, rather than letting the dealer do it for me. Dealer tried to collect taxes on full negotiated price, not price minus trade-in, and wanted to collect $220 for the license, which is a lot more than a handicapped plate would cost. So, by handling it myself, it just cost me a bit of time at the DMV, but saved me over $400 over letting the dealer do it. With the added benefit that I only had the paper dealer's tag taped in my rear window for an hour, instead of a month.
