Start with... What do you want to do? How much money do you want to spend? What needs improvement do you think? Are you going for looks or function? Just want to look cool or bad ass performance?

put that "modding" money towards paying the car off. nothing feels better than getting the title to your car in the mail

Start with learning to drive the car... really drive. Then once you're able to drive the car at its limits (AS IS), then start adding things. Unless you want Bling... Then... find bling you like.

Drive fast, take chances, and don't use the brakes they'll only slow you down! Thats my motto!

I always tell people to start off with tinting that aquarium that we all drive. Tint as many windows as you legally can or are willing to. Tint enhances the look of the vehicle and functions as privacy, heat reduction and uv protection.

Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of the Fit!

since its a fit (unless you plan in going forced induction)...it will always be slow. so the marginal gains by performance parts are not worth the money.

theres nothing like making a bunch of noise accelerating down the road with your 100hp engine while peopel stare and wonder why your car is hardly able to get out of its own way. lol /end sarcasm

form>function on this car.

I agree with the title, but depending on the interest rate, paying off early is a waste. I have 0%, so that would be dumb.

Budget your mods. I got my Fit in June 2012 many of the first mods were actual Honda options that I installed myself; (1) visors, (2) hood deflector, and (3) sills. Then some aftermarket; (1) Eibach lowering springs, (2) some decals , and (3) yellow vinyl foglight protectors. Some DIY mods; (1) debadged and (2) JDM rear wiper mod. Future mods that I will add based on extra cash; (1) tinting, (2) progress rsb, (3) Clazzio seat cove

Only a couple of those are actually mods, the rest are cosmetics.

Agreed.

My definition of "Mod" has always been something that alters the way the vehicle runs, rides, or performs.

save for these...

tint is a must
better tires (when stock runs out of tread)
springs (swifts)

BUT.........

looking at you signature
cars:
Nissan Silvia (fast car)
Honda Fit (fun DD)
Honda odyssey (family hauler)
... I can also foresee new wheels, suspensions and maybe mugen aero kit in the future

Smart man .. there is no point, unless you think that the only other things to invest your money in will ALL yield less than 0% interest

Wheels, 45 mm offset, and tires keeping OD of new tires slightly less than stock.. Then modest lowering. After that pretty much cosmetic.
